Moms are busy people. Sometimes they don’t get all the details right.
Like when they call you your brother’s name.
Or, in Terri Squire of Grafton, Ohio’s case, completely forgetting what the family dog looks like.

It’s a misstep that got her 15 minutes of internet fame after her 17-year-old Jeff Squire son called her out.
It all started when Terri, in perfect mom fashion, got anxious over a dog that was picked up by the pound.
She saw a Facebook post about a dog that was found wandering around.
“Is Dewy home?” she asked Jeff in a text.
She was concerned that the found dog might be the family dog, Duey.

“Our dog tends to run away this time of year, especially around the 4th of July, with people blowing up fireworks all the time,” Jeff told BuzzFeed. “He gets scared and runs around.”
Jeff was at Guitar Center so he didn’t know if the dog was inside.
When his mom sent him the picture of the dog he had quite a laugh.
“Ok, I saw a picture on FB that said these two dogs were picked up by the warden in Grafton and it looked like him – what do you think?” she asked.
The dog had literally only one similar physical trait to Duey. Both these dogs were white.
Other than that, the two dogs looked absolutely nothing alike.
“That’s not Duey. Duey’s face is brown,” he had to remind her.
How could she possibly think that the dog in the photo was her dog?
“It looked nothing like Duey. I kind of just made that face Jim from ‘The Office’ makes when Micahel Scott does something dumb,” Jeff said.
This dog was “pretty much a polar bear” and Duey is a Jack Russell terrier.
Duey is about half the size of the dog in the photo.
What’s even more hilarious is that not only doesn’t she remember what Duey looks like, but she also doesn’t know how to spell his name.

Jeff posted the text interaction on Twitter and the internet lost it when he included an actual picture of Duey.
It was retweeted more than 182,200 times.

“I laughed so hard at this IDK why,” one commenter said.
“I have no idea what my mom was thinking,” he said.
His mom did have a fair excuse though, she was kind of busy. She said she was coming out of a meeting when she saw the Facebook picture and “obviously” didn’t pay much attention to it before sending it to her son.
“I just saw white, and thought it kind of looked like a Jack Russell,” she said.
But no one else on the internet seemed to agree. They just kept posting pictures of polar bears to illustrate how different the two dogs looked.
