“[When I came back] I was very confused, because the cake was on the floor and it was eaten. All my friends were laughing. They sent me the video of what happened.”
Rescue pets sometimes have quirks or behavior issues that their new owner or family has to work on, such as food guarding or excessive shoe chewing, even excessive accidents indoors. These critters are the sweetest things ever and a welcome addition despite the need for a few modifications, just like Lolita the rescue pup.
Her new owner, Catharina Chagas, happens to be a veterinarian. Catharina fell in love with Lolita – from her toothy grin to her captivating brown eyes and her mischievousness, too.

If Lolita wasn’t a canine, we might think she was a cat burglar instead. She has some smooth moves, but hysterically was caught on camera in the thick of a recent crime that has people everywhere cracking up over her brazen scheme.
For her birthday, Catharina baked and decorated herself a delicious cake. It actually was quite beautiful!

Who knew that the veterinarian had such culinary talent!
Because of the quarantine, Catharina couldn’t celebrate with friends in person. So they held an online meeting and she planned to virtually serve everyone a slice.

Of course, it was Catharina’s birthday, so she served herself a slice and set it on the table. While chatting with her friends online, she decided it would be polite to serve a slice to her building’s doorman.
She slid away from the table only briefly to walk the slice of cake down him. Her friends remained connected to their session.

But Lolita wasn’t about to just sit idly by while mom was out of the room and her fantastic cake was sitting right there on the table.
No one was around! No one was watching! Or so she thought…

Lolita hopped right up onto her owner’s chair with all eyes staring right at her. She plunged her face into the cake and took some big bites, happily munching away.
She figured her mom would never know, despite the teeth marks, dog drool and missing cake. Except she was busted by the partygoers on the other end of her mom’s laptop.

Lolita was so focused on devouring the cake that she eventually dragged it down onto the floor off the table! Orlando Colavolpe Neto was one of Catharina’s friends in the virtual birthday party who was trying in vain to snag Lolita’s gaze but to no avail.
“It was funny. Everyone was desperate, trying to get her attention. Lolita didn’t have a care in the world, eating the cake.”

While Lolita has an obvious streak of mischievousness running through her, Catarina wouldn’t change their life together for anything.
“I love having her in my life. She is very special to me! It was great that she stole the show on my birthday. No hard feelings!”
