When animals of different species live together, they sometimes take on some of their housemates’ traits. Just like dogs acting like cats or vice versa. It is quite interesting and adorable the more you see them slowly becoming like one of the others.

This is cohabitation at its finest.

For example, let’s say you introduced a newborn puppy in your house full of cats. Surely when it grows up the pup would begin acting like one of them. It may be because the dog has observed the cats’ actions or mannerisms that they managed to learn from them.

It isn’t just cats and dogs who can take on each other’s traits. This horse became one of the dogs after this particular family adopted her.

Meet the mini-horse, Luna, who lives with five dogs.

Luna is an adorable mini-horse that got used to living with her canine friends at her owner Sue’s home. Sue shared with The Dodo that Luna instantly became a part of their family. It was as if Sue was Luna’s mom, and her kids and her dogs are Luna’s playmates. It was really amazing seeing the bond that they forged with this miniature horse.

Before the happy life that this mini-horse had with Sue, she actually had a heartbreaking history.

“Shortly after Luna was born,” Sue shared to The Dodo. “Her mother rejected her in such a way that it became dangerous for her.”

That is when Sue realized that she should immediately remove her from the mother to up her chances of survival.

After Sue took her home, she began feeding her milk via a bottle, and she nursed the horse as best as she could. Living in an environment with dogs, Luna only knew how to live like one of them and not one of her own. That said, Sue and her family tried doing routines that would bring the horse out of her.

Luna seemed to have taken a liking to Cooper, the golden retriever. They can be seen running and playing around a lot, and they became great friends. However, as time passed by, Sue realized that Luna could live better in a barn.

Luna’s life with Sue and the dogs was going great, but Sue eventually realized that it was time for her to go to where she really belonged – the barn. They also had another adopted mini-horse, which really helped Luna’s transition to her lifestyle. She now grew a wonderful mane, and she could run as fast as the other horses in the barn.

Sue and Cooper regularly visit the barn and Luna’s relationship with her and Cooper has never wavered. She still plays tag with Cooper on the wide field.

“She is still the same with her hugs as she was back when she was little,” said Sue.
