Waking up to your usual routine can be a bit boring. You just want to drive to work, get things done, and finally go home. Chuck Hawley’s day started like this.
He was on his way to work, and it was Friday, everyone was busy trying to get to work, and the traffic was already piling up. It was the usual busy day for everyone. Little did he know that his day was about to change and that he’ll come across a situation that he’ll never forget.
A Disturbing Discovery
One morning, as Chuck was driving to his work, he noticed something on the busy road. At first, he thought of it as a random thing like a piece of cloth, a box, or crumpled paper, but then he saw it moved and realized, as he got closer, that it was a kitten!
It wasn’t just an abandoned kitten, it was stuck on the road, and what he later discovered made him feel sad and disgusted.
He got out of the car to examine the poor little kitten. As he got closer, he saw that the poor little kitten was stuck, but it was still alive and was trying to free herself.
“When I went to pick her up off the road, her feet were stuck to the road and I’m like oh, and so I kind of start to pull her feet up and it was like a rubber cement. She was glued to the road,” Chuck shared with Inside Edition.
The kitten was already tired, hungry, thirsty, and was also in pain. If he hadn’t stopped the car to check, this poor kitten might have already been hit by a car.
Rescuing the Kitten
Chuck couldn’t believe his eyes. An innocent creature was suffering in front of him, but what’s harder to accept is that it was done by cruel humans.
“It was pretty apparent that someone had glued and had soaked her feet in glue and kind of rubbed it into her pads of her feet,” Chuck continued.
Why would anyone do this?
It was more than just cruel; it was twisted and horrible. Someone took this helpless kitten and glued it on the road to see it suffer and finally get hit by a car. These types of acts are unacceptable and should be punished by law!
“I think by the way she was sitting, someone actually went out and put her there because there was no glue foot prints around. It was just a glob of glue just under her. “
How can some people be so cruel?
All Chuck could do was try his best to rescue the kitten. It was a challenge to rescue a kitten trapped with rubber cement. It was so tiny, fragile, and was already in pain, so removing her from the rubber cement was very difficult.
He carefully peeled the kitten’s paws off the glue, and finally, he was able to bring the poor kitten to a vet.
The staff also couldn’t believe their eyes when they realized what had happened to the precious little cat.
They did their best to try and help. They used mineral oil to remove all the rubber cement off the kitten. They also treated her wounds and provided her with the care that she needed for her recovery.

Everyone deserves a second chance, and this beautiful 5-week old kitten was strong enough to endure all her hardships. She made a fast recovery and was able to overcome the trauma of the event.
Chuck decided to adopt the kitten, and can you guess the name that he chose for her?

Everyone, meet the cute little Sticky the Kitty!
Sticky the Kitty now has a loving family to take care of her, and to give her all the love that she deserves.
If Chuck didn’t take a second look at that blob on the road, he wouldn’t have seen this little kitten. If not for his kind heart and concern for animals, we wouldn’t have the chance to meet Sticky the Kitty.
