Human Shows Puppy How To Walk Down The Stairs

Just like with any young creature, if you want to show them how to do something, sometimes you have to demonstrate it for yourself. This teaching method follows the old adage, “Monkey see, monkey do.”

And the video below is a perfect example of showing how it’s done.

In the video, one man patiently shows his adorable little puppy how to walk down the stairs for the first time.

The young puppy had been struggling with going down the stairs by himself due to his debilitating fear.

According to the dog dad, “The key to training a dog to go down the stairs is to show it – just like another dog would. Show them that it won’t kill them and you won’t let them fall, and they’ll be fine.”

And that’s exactly what the man does for his small furry pal.

With his wife recording the precious moment, the man gently talks to the puppy as he demonstrates how to walk downstairs.

You can tell the puppy is scared as it whines and tries to turn away from the stairs, but the puppy’s parents do a great job reassuring the little guy and giving him plenty of encouragement.

They also do an excellent job looking out for the puppy’s safety. In the video, the wife tells her husband to move the puppy to the other side of the stairs so he doesn’t accidentally fall off the open side.

Then, as the puppy slowly makes his way down the stairs one by one, the man makes sure to hold the pup back when he steps too close to the edge of the stair.

Finally, in an adorable climactic moment that makes the whole video worth watching, the puppy is able to make it down the stairs! The proud parents are quick to praise the small pup while the puppy is just happy to see his toys and quickly goes to play.
