Man sees bird carrying something and can’t help but laugh when he realizes what it is
Well, that's definitely not something you see every day.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen during one of your mornings?

Sometimes, we walk out of our porch expecting a slow or uneventful day.

In our fast-paced lives, this is always a welcome treat.

And when everything is calm and at peace, that’s when we’ll see something truly mind-boggling.

Eric Lind from Illinois had this kind of day when he saw what we thought was a witch on a broomstick.

Lind was staying at his parent’s house when the unexpected happened.

When he looked up in the sky, he saw a figure flying across their yard with a stick right under it.

As October is in full swing, one could easily assume that this was some kind of sophisticated witch animatronic.

The figure then flapped its wings and moved from one tree to another.

Lind decided to follow the figure and eventually managed to reveal its true nature.

He discovered that it was a local owl.

And somewhere in his parents’ neighborhood, a child was crying.

Because when Lind looked closer, he realized that this owl wasn’t riding on a broomstick.

“Current situation at my parents’ house,” he said in his Facebook post, “the young neighborhood owl has stolen this stick horse and is flying around the neighborhood with it.”

One child’s loss is another owl’s gain.

That young owl must’ve been proud of itself for stealing candy from a baby.

But what it doesn’t realize is that it clutched a toy in its talons, not the prey it thought it is.

After all, the only animals in a stick are kebabs.

It even screeched midflight but we can’t say if it’s a cry of triumph or that it finally realized it snagged the wrong prey.

Other people also speculated that the young owl might be in danger.

They said the owl must’ve been snagged and had gotten tangled up by the stick horse.

They were worried that it might injure the owl or might impede him from actually hunting.

“Was anyone ever actually able to confirm that this owl is not hung up in the strap rein of this stick horse?” One commenter asked.

Lind, however, assured the people that the owl is totally fine. He even saw the owl switch grips, transferring the stick horse from one talon to another, as it flew to the trees.

While some owls steal kids’ toys, they are generally helpful in the neighborhood.

Those with small pets and chickens should take precautions around these birds of prey, especially at night when they are most active.

However, for those who don’t have small pets, owls can serve as a natural deterrent for pests like rodents and other small creatures that ransack trash bins or invade our homes.

We just hope that the kid made peace with the fact that his horse is now long gone.

“This owl is part of a family of owls that have been in the neighborhood for about 6 months now,” Lind said in his post.

“If your child is missing their stick horse, you’ll have to talk to the owl!” he also said.

Watch how this owl managed to snag a horse and took it to the trees.
