Man owns 4 Guinness World Record Breaker cats, one of which won’t stop growing
Regarding cats, Dr. Will Powers has quite the record-breakers at his home.

In the latest update for the 2023 Guinness Book of World Records, they have finally named the tallest living domestic cat.

Meet Fenrir Antares Powers, a 2-two-year-old Savannah cat, that measured 18.83 inches last Jan. 29, 2021.

Now, Fenrir’s record had been recently published for the Guinness World Records’ 2023 edition.

Savannah cats are actually a cross between domesticated cats and large-eared wild African cats.

No wonder their size is massive!

The proud owner, Michigan physician, and HIV specialist Dr. Will Powers adopted Fenrir when he was just 12 weeks old.

Now, Fenrir’s size didn’t come as a surprise for Powers.

This is because four of Power’s cats have entered the Guinness World Record.

Power’s other cats that also hold Guinness World Record titles:

Altair Cygnus Powers— The Guinness title holder for having the longest tail on a living domestic cat. Currently, his tail measures 16.07 inches.

Cygnus Regulus Powers—Altair’s brother, also a silver Maine Coon, held the record for the longest tail on a living domestic cat. Unfortunately, Cygnus died in a house fire last 2017.

Arcturus Aldebaran Powers—Also a Savannah cat, holds the Guinness World Records title holder for the tallest cat ever. Previously, Arcturus also held the title of the tallest living domestic cat. He also died in the same fire with Cygnus last 2017.

According to the doctor, he spoils his cats, and he loves them so much. Whatever they want or even need, he would give them.

His father even joked about wanting to be reincarnated as one of his son’s cats.

So imagine the pain that Powers experienced when he lost his beloved pets.

Powers recalled the devastating story. One night, he woke up and his house was already burning.

He called 9-1-1 and while waiting; he searched for his cats.

“I was in a room so filled of smoke that I could not see anymore. I was feeling around for them. I passed out, I hit the ground. I realized when I woke back up if I didn’t get out, I was gonna die. I opened every window and door I could find to give them escape paths. EMS dragged me out of there. The house burned to the foundation,” Powers told in his interview with Guinness.

In the fire, Cygnus Regulus and Arcturus Aldebaran passed away.

Powers suffered from depression.

Slowly, he started accepting that his beloved cats were gone, and he went back to work.

He slowly realized that his life wasn’t complete without cats, so started adopting again.

It wasn’t easy. Sometimes Powers felt resentful of the new cats because he missed his old cats, but soon, with love and affection, he learned to open his heart again.

A year after the accident, the breeders called Powers and told him that a brother of Cygnus Regulus had been born.

It took a while before Powers took him. He felt afraid at first that the kitten would look so much like his brother, and that might bring up his past trauma.

He may also have a long tail, but he’s totally different from his brother.

Today, Dr. Powers found his happiness again. He’s a proud cat, dad, and he couldn’t get enough of his beautiful family.

Powers know that many cats need help, and that’s why he does his best to raise money for the charity that he runs.

The kind-hearted doctor is also a president of a cat shelter.
