There are lots of stray animals roaming around the streets. Thankfully, there are also plenty of volunteers and non-profit rescue organizations who are able to take care of these unfortunate animals and find them new homes.
It is a common scene to see stray cats “meowing” to random humans to ask for food. However, even if it was meant for the sake of their survival, some humans tend to drive them off just because they are bugging them. Luckily, some gladly offer food, and there are those with kind hearts who offer even more.
One stray, limping cat came to ask a man for food, but he decided to offer more than that.
A mother cat came to YouTuber Walter Santi’s home and asked for food. The man was glad to provide the cat some, but there he noticed the cat’s peculiarity – she had a limp on her left hind leg.
The cat continued to visit him in his yard twice a day, so he decided to take care of the cat for a bit. He wanted to take her to the vet, but then he figured out that it might be hard as had left a bunch of kittens somewhere. He wanted to find those kittens so he could help them too.
A few days passed and he had no luck finding the litter. He asked some neighbors about it but to no avail.
One day, he was lucky to be able to tail the mother cat back to her lair and found five beautiful kittens hidden in the bush.
He already developed trust with the kittens’ mother so it was not hard for him to scoop them out of the den and take them to the vet.
He temporarily found the kittens and their mother a foster home until they were ready for a permanent one.
Their visit to the vet was worthwhile. The doctor declared all the kittens as healthy and even diagnosed the mother cat’s limp. The limp was due to a fracture that happened a long time ago.
Over time, the fractured part developed irregular bone growth and the vet found it difficult to fix it. The good news is, there was no need to take drastic measures like amputation since she seemed to not be in pain.
Walter reached out to a family member who offered to temporarily let the cats stay in their home as the kittens were not ready to be separated from their mother yet.
The cat became comfortable at the new place after roaming around the house, checking for potential dangers.
Thanks to this kind “Hooman,” the cats were able to relax and get the shelter and food they desperately needed. Kudos to Walter for voluntarily doing what’s best for these cats.
Helping animals in need for the first time.
It is always good to find a way to provide help for these creatures, but be aware that taking care of stray animals isn’t always easy.
Consult experts for advice, make an effort to do your own research, and note important points beforehand so that both you and the animals will be happy.
