He sent her packing, and we can't say we blame him!

Never trust a person who is mean to animals.

It’s now a common practice for couples who have been together for quite some time to eventually move in together. The same goes for this guy and his girlfriend of two years.

What else was left to do but to take the next step. In love and wanting to be with her, he asked his girlfriend to move in with him and Raven, his precious black cat.

The girlfriend did move in since she really did love the guy.

But she didn’t feel the same for his cat.

It became pretty obvious she wasn’t a cat person.

β€œIt was clear she didn’t like my cat,” the man posted to Reddit’s Am I The A****** forum under the handle Astonished_Hound.

Though he didn’t worry too much about it at first, the man did notice his girlfriend’s lacking connection with Raven. One day, he came home and found his beloved cat had disappeared.

The guy didn’t really think it was really a big deal until the day he got home and found his black cat gone.

Raven was actually gone for hours so naturally, he was worried sick. Soon enough, a friend of his came to his house and returned the cat, saying he found Raven 2 blocks from his house.

Raven wasn’t the type to venture outside on his own.

Raven may have been home safe, but the cat’s owner just had to know why the cat was outside for hours. He soon learned the heartbreaking fact that would lead to his regret of inviting his girlfriend to live with him.

β€œI asked my girlfriend how my cat, who has never tried to go out before ended up that far from my house and she admitted to kicking him out,” the man wrote. β€œI was furious, saying she had no right to kick him out and told her that since she thought she had the power to kick my cat out, I wanted her out of my house by the end of the month.”

He is now wondering if he overreacted by kicking her out.

His girlfriend actually cried and says she had nowhere to go. His friends even said he was too harsh, but the cat could have died because of her and he just couldn’t afford to risk it again.

But he did find sympathy when he turned to the cat-loving Internet. β€œPets are family, she kicked out his cat to fend for itself on the streets,” one user agreed.

Many other comments agreed with him, defending poor Raven in the process.

A third person made a good point saying that it was alarming that she chose to evict a black cat right before Halloween. A time when black cats are usually tortured and abused.

Raven is lucky to have been found by the guy’s friend, alive and healthy.

As for the girl, perhaps she learned a valuable lesson. What do you think?
