Imagine having a vast array of wildlife just waiting for you on your doorstep. Those who live in the countryside are lucky enough to see a range of animals on a daily basis, but for the rest of us, we’re intrigued by the wildlife videos we see online.
That’s why we’re so grateful for one photographer who had the best idea! He set up a secret camera on a log ‘bridge’ filming a whole array of animals crossing over, and we could watch the video for hours.

Bob lives in Pennsylvania and has a passion for wildlife photography. He set up a Facebook Page and YouTube Channel called Bob’s Pennsylvania Wildlife Camera where he documents all of his furry friends that he comes across in the countryside near his home.

Bob often posts videos that are around 30 seconds long, but every once in a while he gives us a real treat and puts together a compilation of a whole load of videos put together. One of Bob’s recent compilations features videos from different months in 2018 and 2019, and it gives us an insight into what his log bridge looks like at different times of the year.

What’s most exciting about the video is that we truly don’t know what animal we’re going to see crossing the bridge next.
The animals range from the expected, like frogs, ducks, and birds, to the more unexpected such as raccoons, bobcats, grouse, beavers, and one particularly clumsy bear.

Some of the animals walk straight across the bridge, while others that swim have to climb over the bridge to get to the water on the other side. One of our favorite moments has to be when a clever bobcat seems to know he’s being filmed and walks right up to the camera with his mouth open and a shocked expression on his face.

The clumsy bear is another favorite of ours. The big guy has been filmed crossing the bridge on more than one occasion, and he can’t seem to keep his footing! On one occasion, he has such a stumble that we were almost certain that he was about to fall into the river below.
The footage is filmed day and night, during every season. We see the log during heavy rain, when the river is so high that it’s barely visible, in the wintertime when the surrounding grass is covered in frost, and during the night when nocturnal animals with eyes that glow under the night vision lens are passing by.

Surprisingly, Bob’s video only recently became viral when it was posted onto Reddit under the r/videos subreddit. The video was posted in February of this year, and since then it has gained 51,400 upvotes and over 1,500 comments.

WSLS 10 News shared the video onto their YouTube channel and it blew up with over nine million views, making Bob’s furry friends instant celebrities.
It’s truly amazing to see all of the different types of animals that live in one place, and we hope that Bob continues to share his amazing videos with the world.
