Quarantine has definitely brought out people’s creative sides, but one man had been working on something special long before self-isolation was even upon us.

For most of us, treating our kitty to a new cat bed or scratching post would be more than enough for our spoiled little fur babies.

But for Rob Coutu, he wanted to give his two cats, Zach and Tabatha, the ultimate treat. He had been searching for cat towers that he could buy, but he couldn’t find any that were quite cool enough.

So Rob decided to take matters into his own hands. He was going to make a custom tower, and it was going to be the biggest and best that anyone had ever seen.

Rob began to create the tower, and he shared the whole building process on his Facebook page, Kitty Towers. The tower starts off as just a few pieces of wood, and at the time, Rob’s kitties had no idea how amazing their tower was going to turn out.

Rob named his construction Zach Tower, after writing, “In the beginning my Savannah cat, Zach had the desire for a tall structure, so I designed him one, then went on to build it for him.”

Now that’s a truly spoiled kitty!

The walls to the tower were then added. You can see one of Rob’s “clients” inspecting the progress. This kitty already seems to have taken to the construction, and it’s unsurprising that Rob sees himself as a bit of a cat whisperer. He told The Dodo:

“I have had cats all my life so I had a lot of experience with what they like.”

Next came the windows, which were 3D printed by Rob. Can anyone else still not get their head around 3D printers? However he managed it, they look totally awesome.

Rob made sure that he paid attention to every single detail. He installed window boxes, LED lights, and even a little sign saying ‘Zach’s Tower.’

Once the first tower was complete, Rob then moved on to creating a second one, this time complete with balconies on each floor!

Once again, the tower received quite an early approval from the clients, so it’s clear that Rob’s creative skills aren’t being wasted.

The second tower also includes an adorably quirky round window, which Rob calls the emergency exit. It also makes a great lookout spot.

After a year in the making, the two towers are finally complete, and we can’t get over just how amazing they look.

The details from the tiny lawn and the potted plants to the little window baskets are just incredible, and the whole thing looks even better than a real-life house! Can we move in?

But Rob wasn’t finished there. With Zach’s supervision, he began constructing a bridge that would connect the two towers, and within no time it was up in the air. But what did the clients think? Rob told The Dodo:

“Both cats wanted to use it, but Zach quickly claimed both and is possessive of them both. He uses them all day long and watches TV from them too.”

Well, it had been Zach’s idea, after all.

So many people loved Rob’s tower that his Facebook page soon gained a huge fanbase, and many asked if Rob could build a tower for their own fur babies.

Rob happily agreed, and he told Facebook that he would begin taking on clients once the pandemic is over — though he still hasn’t figured out pricing yet!

Rob certainly deserves an award for being the best papa a cat could ever wish for.
