We all know that moms can be protective of their babies. It is just how they are, and we love them for it. After all, they do everything they can to keep us safe, warm, and protected.
However, that protectiveness isn’t just found in human moms. It can be found in just about every mom out there, including feline moms.
Getting to know everyone
A happy pet owner was taking a little time to get to know one of the kittens who had been born in his house. He had the small creature on his lap and was giving the tiny kitten tiny pets. It was a sweet moment to witness.
Calling for mom
It all seemed fairly routine until the small animal gave out an even smaller meow. Suddenly, mom, who was curled up in a box on the floor, became instantly alert and looked up and over towards the kitten.
She knew it was time for her kitten to come back to her. The time to meet and play with the resident humans was over.
Time to come home
The mother cat’s ears were perked straight up as she meowed back in response to let her kitten know that mama was on her way and would be there soon. She leaped out of the box, never taking her eyes off the kitten for even a millisecond.
After leaping to the floor, she swiftly moved around the chair the kitten and person were occupying. From the side, she stretched up to get a better view and sniffed the kitten.
Her mind must have been made up after examining the situation, because she immediately jumped up onto the person’s lap and next to her meowing baby. She had decided that it was time for her kitten to return to the box.
Back to safety
It took a few tries, but mom was eventually able to grab her kitten by the scruff of the neck. She then jumped back onto the ground and quickly returned to the inside of the box after one final leap, with the kitten delicately dangling from her mouth.
And back among his siblings
She then gently placed him down inside of the box next to two other fluff balls with similar markings. In fact, all of the kittens looked a lot like their mom. It would be hard to deny that they were her babies. With her level of protectiveness, there is no denying it at all.
Family is everything
As for this particular kitten, he was once again reunited with his mom and siblings. Mom got comfortable and relaxed once again, and the kittens began to nuzzle up to her and settle down as well.
The small kitten had his adventure for the day, but now he was safely back in the box with his family. He would have plenty of time to interact with the humans again as he got older, but right now, mom knew exactly where he needed to be – home with her.
In that moment in that little kitten’s life, everything was right with the world.
