Pusha lives in Miniature Park in Bakhchysarai, on the southern Crimea peninsula. The park keepers take care of Pusha and the other cats who live in the park.

In April 2019, Pusha gave birth to a litter of four healthy kittens. Pusha loved all her kittens, and she quickly proved that she was a great mother.

Soon after Pusha gave birth, the park keepers found four orphaned baby red squirrels. The squirrels were about a month old, and they hadn’t even opened their eyes yet.

The park keepers knew that the squirrels needed a mother to grow and survive. And so, they decided to see if Pusha would accept the squirrels and raise them with her babies.

The park keepers introduced the squirrels and stayed close by just in case things didn’t go well.

At first, the squirrels were scared of Pusha. But over time, the squirrels and Pusha learned to trust each other. Then, Pusha started nursing the squirrels with her kittens.

Pusha would happily nurse all four squirrels and all four of her kittens, but unfortunately, she doesn’t have enough milk. And so, the park keepers supplement with bottles of goat’s milk. That way, all eight babies get the milk they need.

Pusha also gives the squirrels baths just like she does with her own newborns. The squirrels also cuddle with her when they’re napping!

The squirrels also enjoy playing, and they love climbing onto Pusha’s back. Thankfully, Pusha is okay with this.

“It’s a surprising sight considering cats would usually be predators to squirrels in the wild. But Pusha seems to love all her kids equally,” a reporter said in an Inside Edition video.

Pusha’s kittens also love their squirrel siblings. The kittens and squirrels play together all day long!

A YouTube video of Pusha and her squirrels quickly went viral. Everyone was amazed by the love Pusha showed for her kittens.

“This cat has a better heart than most people in the world,” one YouTube commenter wrote.

Another commenter said that video proves a mother’s love is universal.
