People will always say that their dogs are smart.
Some will even flaunt the tricks they know or the stunts they can perform. Some can even communicate with buttons that say words.
But how many of these dogs can find their way back home when the need arises? How many can remember significant places and people?
An amazing dog in Thailand showed such skill.
One day, a local veterinary clinic had a very special visitor. It stood outside and would walk around every now and then as if waiting for something.
The dog would then walk closer to the door and bark at the staff, trying to get their attention. No one knows how the dog got to the clinic or how it got there.
Eventually, the staff took notice.
They watched the puppy first and tried to figure out what they’ll do with him. The dog has a collar, which meant that someone owns the dog.
However, they don’t know if the dog was abandoned, if it had escaped and gone missing, or just frolicking around the neighborhood. One thing they can assume, though, is that the dog is lost.
The staff of Putahracsa Veterinary Clinic let the dog inside.
The dog, judging by how his tail was wagging, seemed to find the place comfortable – and it was because the dog has been here before.
In the Facebook post, it was explained that the dog got his vaccine shots at that clinic when he was just a month old. Now, four to five months later, he found himself in the same place.
They said that when the dog failed to remember where he was from, he returned to the next best place – the veterinary clinic.
It was an amazingly crafty move for the dog.
The doctor remembered him as one of their patients. And with that, they were able to pull up his records so they could contact his owners.
It didn’t take long before the owner reunited with her dog at the clinic. Apparently, the owner was working when her dog wandered about.
The dog was lost for about 6 hours but thanks to his intelligence, he was able to find his way back home.
The dog and his unorthodox way of getting home got a lot of attention.
As of writing, the video has been seen over 1.2 million times and has over 16,000 interactions. The people praised the dog’s intelligence and the clinic’s quick and compassionate reaction.
“The assistant is good for remembering the dog,” one comment in Thai said. The comment also stated that it was very kind of the doctor to stay with the dog because no one knows what would’ve happened if it was left roaming outside.
It may have been quite a journey just to get back home but it was certainly a method that worked like a charm. And as dogs have grown to “hate” the veterinarian, this little pup just grew to love it some more.
Watch how this pup found its way back home by going to the next best place.
