The lockdown has been hard for us all, but it’s been especially hard for children. They have been robbed or the chance to communicate and play with their friends outside their homes.

They are not allowed to play with each other in the park, the mall, and playgrounds, and they cannot even visit each other’s houses.

However, some have found clever ways to deal with this lack of interaction during the ongoing pandemic – chatting and having video calls with friends online, communicating through online games, or making a dog deliver your letters to your neighbor’s house. Yes, you read that right.

An adorable dog has started bringing a little girl letters from their neighbor.

Being isolated from friends has been kind of a downer to Sarah Burness’ daughter, Ava, as the novel coronavirus’ spread continues to increase in Australia.

Ava was stuck doing online lessons and had fewer interactions with her neighbors and friends. Luckily, one of her neighbors brought back the joy in her eyes with a pleasant surprise.

One day, Sarah found a piece of paper stuck in her dog Nugget’s collar. It turns out, it was a letter from her daughter’s friend.

“I took it off and opened it, and what was written on it made my 6-year-old daughter’s day and melted my heart. Back to basics,” Sarah wrote on Humanity Stories’ Facebook page.

The whole family was astonished, and they were overjoyed by the sweetness and effort that Ava’s friend poured into the letter.

This is the kind of friend we need during these hard times.

“So near, yet so far.” A perfect way to describe their struggle today. Despite that, a friend of theirs was able to break through this communication barrier by setting up Sarah’s dog to deliver Ava the most heartfelt message.

Sianne was the one who sent Ava the letter via Nugget. Her message was filled with concern for her friend as the outbreak kept them away from meeting each other. Sianne wrote:

“Ava, I know we can’t see each other now, but we can still send messages through Nuget. I don’t know why but dogs can’t carry virus’s. I know, right? Can you please send me a message back. (So I know your still alive.) From, Sianne! P.S. covid 19 will eventualy go & everything will be o.k.”

It cheered and lifted Ava and her family’s spirits after they read the entire letter.

The friends’ connection was pure and uplifting. The situation was enough to make you both feel sad and hopeful because of the strong bond that their friendship has.

No matter how hard the times have become, Sianne was able to find a way to check on her friend.

This brave dog made it possible for these friends to stay connected.

Nugget also did a great job as a messenger. Because dogs most likely can’t catch COVID-19, Nugget became the perfect bridge for the friends’ correspondence.

The dog deserves a tasty treat for his errands, and he will surely be rewarded by tons of treats to munch on.

Sarah admitted that it is something that they need during this global mess. Let’s just pray that this whole mess will soon be over so that friends like Ava and Sianne can enjoy each other’s company each other under the heat of the sun.
