Dogs and humans have a bond of more than 14,000 years old.
The oldest known dog burial happened 14,200 years ago, proving dogs were already domesticated animals by then.
More than that, dogs were already considered beloved pets worthy of burial.
Since then, dogs have continued to capture human hearts and have become valuable family members for many people. Dogs are truly loved and cherished.
This story shows the beautiful bond between a little girl and a stray dog.
Rebekah Cowley, also known as TikTok user @bekahcowley, shared the story of how her daughter met a stray dog, and the two soon became inseparable.
Cowley and her family visited her grandparents’ house where they told her that there was a stray dog that was hanging around their house for the past week.
However, the dog was too scared to come up to them. They suspected it was a stray but couldn’t help because the dog didn’t want to go near them.
When Cowley’s young daughter Luna went outside, the dog came and greeted her. It was evident that there was an immediate and special bond between them.
The dog stayed near Luna and allowed her to play and pet her.
The family had to leave but were scheduled to return in a few days to celebrate Easter. When they came back, the dog was still hanging around outside the home.
When the dog saw Luna, she ran straight to her and greeted her.
That same day, Luna begged her parents to keep the dog and bring it home, which they eventually did. Luna’s dad picked up the stray dog and put it in the car with them.
Luna named the dog Magic, and they have been inseparable ever since. They don’t leave each other’s side, even when sleeping.
Cowley and her grandparents called animal control to check if there was a report of a missing dog. They also checked different lost dog apps, and still no post for a missing dog that matched Magic’s description.
When they were able to get a vet appointment, they brought Magic in to have her checked for a chip.
If the dog had a chip, they would immediately return her. The vet confirmed that Magic was less than six months old and had no chip implanted in her.
Commenters and netizens prodded her to ensure that she was not anyone’s pet, so Cowley brought her back to the vet again to check for a chip.
The vet confirmed again that she was not chipped. They would bring her back again to get chipped and vaccinated.
This means that Luna could keep her!
While we don’t know how Magic became a stray, we’re so happy that she ended up with a family that genuinely loves and cares for her. Luna met her “soul dog;” today, everyone is happy they met each other.
We hope Luna and Magic love and enjoy each other’s company for a very long time!
