Children and animals who grow up together often form incredible bonds. This is true for both small animals like cats and dogs and much larger animals, like horses. For a great example of how much horses and kids can bond, check out this viral video. This video shows a little girl named Lilly Rae calming down a sweet gigantic horse!
This horse, Mac, lives at the Sky High Equestrian Center in Tomball, Texas. This equestrian center trains and sells horses. Lilly Rae’s mom owns the equestrian center, and so Lilly Rae has spent her whole life around horses. Because of that, the five-year-old girl has an innate sense for how to calm down nervous horses.
While Lilly Rae gets along well with all the horses at the center, she and Mac have always had a special bond.
One evening, Lilly Rae decided she wanted to say goodnight to her beloved Mac before heading to bed. She and her mom, Samantha Buncher, headed out to the barn. Mac was so excited to see Lilly Rae—he immediately poked his head out. Lilly Rae hugged him, and the horse stayed completely still.
When Lilly Rae walked away, Mac kept his head out—he wanted more kisses! Lilly Rae was happy to give him those kisses. She was also excited to share that Mac loved the snack she gave him.
“I gave him a Cheeze-it and he didn’t eat my fingers,” Lilly Rae said.
Samantha was touched by the way the horse reacted to her daughter.
“He loves Lilly Rae,” Samantha said. “He’s such a good boy.”

In the video description, Samantha explained that Mac was for sale. After the video went viral, she received tons of offers for him, and she was able to find the right home for him. The horse will go to a home where he’ll have plenty of space to run around. Hopefully, Lilly Rae will be able to visit him!
Samantha has also shared many other photos and videos of her daughter with their horses. Even though Lilly Rae is young, she already has some incredible horseback riding skills.
