He is still a cat after all.
Dangle or display any foreign object in front of a feline and they will watch it with great interest before trying to pounce on it. Balls of yarn, sticks, shoes… you get the idea. Curiosity could kill a cat.
But maybe not a cat this big. It’s a lion. Fangs, claws, mane and all. The king of the jungle is still a kitty inside.
This woman had her right leg cast and mounted on a scooter. It helps her move around while giving her cool points. Her husband was filming her as she approached the big cat, only separated by a thick sheet of glass.
The lion stood still, only staring at the scooter as it wondered what kind of human this was. To the lion, it’s a person with one leg and a set of wheels on the other. Probably seemed so strange to the cat.
Look how big the lion is!
She puts her left hand on the glass. Now it’s not clear why she did so, nor was it clear if she wanted a reaction from the lion but she got it. The predator was instantly on its hind legs, both paws swiping on the glass.
The question is, did the lion want the scooter or the woman?
Seems to be the scooter. The big cat lays down on its side and begins swiping the glass with its paws directly in front of her scooter. He’s just being a silly cat. Pretty cute if you think about it.
A guy named Dave commented,
“Just give him the scooter he wants to ride on it like he’s a lion cub.”

Lions have been symbols of courage and strength. Always portrayed as big, bad, cool animals, these big cats weigh in anywhere from 330 to 550 pounds. They are strong.
They are the only cats who live in groups called prides. They are all related, the male usually surrounded by many females who do the hunting for him. All he does is defend the pride and mark territories. Like a king.
But this lion does not have a pride. No point in being alpha. Might as well show his true colors!
Another viewer said,
“He seemed to be in a playful mood. He didn’t roar or bear his teeth. Then he laid on his left side in a pawing manner like domestic cats.”
That’s another way of looking at it!
This encounter between woman and lion was at Sedgwick County Zoo, Wichita, Kansas. Even a grown man would have jumped and shouted if an adult lion tried to pounce on him. Even a soldier would!
They can grow up to ten feet long from head to tail. Now imagine something that size, ten feet long and five hundred pounds trying to get to you. She was certainly awake after that one! Forget that second cup of coffee, dear wife.
One has to wonder if, given the chance, the lion would have let the woman rub his belly or at least touch him. Look at him acting like a kitten! All he wants is the scooter. Let him have a go!
