Halloween is right around the corner, which means that the time to scare your friends has arrived. Halloween is known for the fun in being scared. It might not have been October for this dog but he still got an unsuspecting scare and there is no better time than now to watch this cute and funny video.
This lion cub was in the Halloween spirit without even knowing it.
The lion cub stalked his prey well, but he was not looking for a meal he was looking to have a bit of fun with his friend. The funny moment took place at the Cornellskop Animal Training Farm in South Africa.
The Cornellskop Animal Training Farm “is a fully licensed farm which trains animals for work in films and television commercials. The farm is run by a team with more than two decades of professional animal wrangling experience. All animals on the farm are loved and cared for and completely socialised to one another and play together often.”
Cornellskop trains animals for filming purposes and this lion cub is ready for his big moment.
Cornellskop not only trains animals to film but they also let visitors come and experience their majestic animals on their property. There are more than 20 different animal species on the property and they are all loved and cared for.
Cornellskop allows visitors to come on site with a mission in mind.
“Our hope is to give the public a better understanding and awareness of what a cheetah (for example) needs to survive, or what a zebra enjoys nibbling on. We also hope that this awareness helps to lessen the number of wild animals being kept illegally or used for sport and helps to save them in their natural environments as well,” their official website states.
The poor dog was given a fright because he was looking the opposite way the entire time the lion cub was heading his way. At first, the dog had another doggie friend next to him, but that dog caught sight of the lion cub and wanted to take no part in the scare. The dog gave no warning to his friend, just left him behind to get scared on his own.
Apparently it is every dog for himself!
The lion cub did not even have to make a sound to scare the dog.
Once the lion cub got close to the dog, he just waited for the dog to notice his stealthy arrival. Once he did, the dog shook in fright and ran off. The dog did not get too far though as he kept looking behind him. The lion cub must have seen this as play time because he started after the dog to play some more.
All the animals have been trained to be raised with each other.
The dog was in no real harm as the employees of Cornellskop film the moment and laugh with the fright. They know that the lion cub is just having a bit of fun with the dog.
The video was posted to YouTube by Shaun Swingler and two days later the video was already being showcased on CBS This Morning.
The video had quickly gone viral.
Lions and dogs are not the average playmates. So, watching the two animals have a bit of fun with each other is a joy to witness, not to mention how funny it is. The original YouTube video has over 14 million views and it has been played by many other sources, such as CBS This Morning.
