Humans saving pups is not too unusual.
But, a dog saving other dogs? Now, that’s extraordinary.
Dogs are not only friendly animals.
They are also highly empathetic, which makes them more aware of what happens around them and the emotions of everyone that surrounds them.
Dogs are not only sensitive to the needs of their humans.
They are also highly adept at reading the feelings of their fellow pups.
They are more connected than we can think of, and one situation proves how strong this connection is.
Meet Robbie, a black Labrador Retriever who loves the outdoors.
The pup is used to being near the river because he grew up near it, along with the other dogs living with him and his human.
Robbie is energetic and playful.
He loves spending time outside and running around with his dog pals.
In a video uploaded on YouTube, Robbie shows off his strength and smartness by helping his other dog pals out of danger.
This video showed his survivor skills, empathy, and deep connection with the other pups.
The uploaded video shows two dogs trapped in a canoe that had floated out into the river.
The strong gust of wind brought the light Kevlar canoe with it, pushing the tiny boat into the water’s main stream.
As it started to wash away from the bank, two dogs leaped onto it and rode the canoe as it floated away.
Shortly after seeing the situation unfold, Robbie the Labrador jumped into the water to help his comrades.
He swam quickly toward his pup friends and was intent on bringing them back to dry land.
Robbie swims with energy and strength, clearly showing his focus on saving his pals.
He swam as quickly as possible while one of the dogs in the canoe threw the rope at him. Rusty, the Redbone, was the dog who helped Robbie reach the canoe and eventually get hold of it and bring the doggos back to shore.
The “rescue” proved that Robbie can save his friends if they ever get unlucky in a dangerous situation.
This is because what just happened was not an actual emergency at all.
The dogs love this game of swimming after the canoe in the river.
As it turns out, jumping on the canoe and swimming after it is a game these dogs love.
Growing up near the river made them very comfortable swimming for miles, and they even discovered that they could have fun with it. Robbie’s human fondly shares this fun activity with the doggos.
“Robbie actually taught us that he could retrieve the canoe.” She explains, “The dogs were in no danger. They all grew up on the river from the time they were just a couple months old. Robbie, the black lab, had the strongest legs I’ve ever seen on a dog….Our dogs would swim an entire 11-mile float trip.”
Oh, so no one is really in danger?
Yup, just dogs having fun in the river!
But, hey, these dogs are now used to being in the water, which has helped them improve in surviving in this part of the world.
Even the other dogs knew how to swim after the canoe, so Rusty quickly threw the rope at Robbie.
