In September 2013, an animal lover brought a litter of kittens and their mother to Fabulous Felines NWA in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The mother had stopped nursing the kittens, and they desperately needed help to survive. While six of the kittens were average-sized, one was shockingly small.

This tiny kitten weighed less than three ounces, and he was the size of a Chapstick!

Fabulous Felines NWA named the kitten Stuart Little, and they started giving him round-the-clock care. Even though they were doing everything they could, they were still afraid the kitten wouldn’t make it. He was just too tiny and sick.

The rescue organization moved Stuart and his siblings into a foster home. Since Stuart’s mom was unable to take of her kittens, they had her spayed and relocated to Cat Haven Ranch for her own well-being and safety.

Fabulous Felines NWA started doing updates on Stuart’s condition on their Facebook page.

On his first day at the rescue, Stuart barely moved, and he couldn’t open his eyes because they were filled with pus. Fabulous Felines gave him an IV drip for his dehydration, and they cleaned out his eyes, allowing him to open them for the first time.

By the second day, Stuart’s eyes had improved, and he was moving a little bit. The kitten was slowly coming back to life.

By his twelfth day in the shelter, fur had started growing again on Stuart’s head, and he was moving around more and more. After all of Fabulous Felines NWA’s hard work, Stuart was finally feeling better!

Stuart went into a foster home, where he was looked after by an older cat. She happily let the tiny kitten cuddle with her!

When Stuart was eight weeks old, his foster mom took a photo of him next to a Chapstick again. It’s amazing to see how much he grew!

Stuart and his siblings also got along very well. He was especially fond of cuddling with his brother Gravy.

Soon after this, Amanda Rhea, a volunteer at Fabulous Felines NWA, adopted Stuart, and he moved into his forever home. Stuart loves his mom and his new tabby brother, Dr. House.

Stuart is also a bit mischievous—he stashed a large collection of toys under Rhea’s bed, hoping nobody would find them.

Stuart has now been living with Rhea for over four years, and he’s grown into a happy adult cat. Seeing him now, it’s hard to believe how tiny he was when he was a kitten!
