As the mother of a rambunctious 2-year-old, I know how hard it can be to make somebody go to bed. It doesn’t matter if the clock struck bedtime hours ago; oftentimes, you’ll still find them bouncing off the walls. I’ve recently discovered that kitty parents face the same problem. How do you make your adorable fluff ball go to sleep when, instead, they seem intent on running around and getting into mischief? It’s the ultimate conundrum, one that can require some quick thinking and creativity. The following cat owner seems to have mastered putting her kitty to bed— and all she uses is a simple lullaby…

In a heartwarming YouTube video, we see Janice Jensen putting an adorable foster kitten to sleep in literally 55 seconds. The cute little ginger is all bundled up in a white towel, and the video begins with Janice asking the cute boy if he’d like to sing a song.

“Rock-a-bye kitty” the woman sings— and, to the internet’s amazement, the little kitten starts singing back with tiny, high-pitched meows.

“Good harmony!” Jensen says encouragingly before continuing their adorable duet. It only takes about 20 seconds for the kitty’s eyes to start dropping, but he struggles to stay awake and finish his favorite song.

As soon as Jensen finishes the last note though, the kitten closes his eyes and falls right to sleep.

The video, which was originally shared by Jensen, was later picked up by The Pet Collective YouTube channel, where it garnered thousands and thousands of views. Cat lovers everywhere went wild for the clip, leaving comments such as the following:

“I have to adjust my insulin. That was too sweet.”

” Night night Kitty!”

“Adorable!”

“I am in love with this cat.”

According to scientists, this adorable ginger kitten isn’t the only feline that enjoys good music.

Steve Dale, a certified animal behavior consultant, told Catster, “There have been some studies to determine the specific musical genre cats enjoy. Some studies suggest that cats will relax and some act less anxious in a shelter environment when classical music is played.” For adopted and domestic cats, the allure of singing may come from the fact that their owner is giving them positive attention— something that everyone loves!

Whatever the case, this video is beyond adorable. Watch it for yourself the below!
