Sometimes, we’re in the right place at the right time to save a little life in need.
It’s an incredible moment when we can help an animal in this way.
For one group of youngsters, that rescue turned into something a lot bigger.
It all started when a few young kids heard a strange noise coming from the ground.
While playing at the Zed & Co Free-range Farms in Victoria, southeast Australia, the farmer’s daughter and her best friend heard a noise.
Confused, they looked around until they realized that the noise was coming from under their feet. Soon, they learned that the noise wasn’t just anything, it was a baby lamb trapped in a pipe.
Grabbing their parents, a rescue operation soon began.
Somehow, a baby lamb had wandered into a draining pipe and got stuck.
Instead of backing up, however, the lamb pushed deeper and deeper into the pipe until it was literally buried in the middle of the field.
Thankfully, the girls were around to hear the cries for help from the little animal.
Using a circular saw, the adults cut into the black plastic tube and started trying to pry it open.
Since the pipe was so small, they had to be careful to not harm the lamb during the rescue.
Thankfully, they got a few good slices in and were able to fit two crowbars into the small incision. Tugging as hard as they could, they finally peeled back the plastic enough to see inside the dark pipe.
Finally, with a few more precise cuts and a bit of elbow grease, the last bit of the pipe finally came off.
Pulling the lamb from the pipe, they examined the little creature.
It was wet, but it was still alive! Within moments you can hear all the kids asking for their turn to hold the little creature.
“I can see it … it’s still alive … it’s black,” the children say in a continuous commentary during the rescue operation. Finally, the little black sheep is taken out by one of the children who died of desire to save the little sheep. At last the little black sheep is free! Wet but still warm. Operation “Save Lamb” was declared a success. – Rumble
With the lamb free, all the rescuers posed for a photo!
As stated in the video, “Operation Rescue Lamb” was a complete success.
As any farmer knows, sheep really know how to get themselves into some sticky situations.
A stray sheep isn’t just the subject of this video, but a whole cultural idiom. Those little creatures love to get lost! Regardless, the adorable lamb’s mom was probably happy to have the prodigal return, even if he was a little wet.
These kids did such a good job helping an animal in need. The future is in good hands.
