Dogs are wonderful animals, always ready to brighten our days with their happy little tails and furry faces, and it’s amazing to see how intelligent they can be as well!
Over the years, dogs have been used for all kinds of jobs from cattle herding to police work.
Police dogs might seem a little scary or intimidating to some people, and we don’t always look at them the same way we’d look at our own canine companions and family pets, but this funny video shows that police dogs are pretty much just like all other dogs out there!
This funny clip was recorded by the wife of a police officer one random weekday morning.
The officer was getting ready to go to work, bringing his K-9 buddy, Jango, along with him, but the lazy pup was just lying on the lawn, totally unwilling to get into the officer’s car.
In the background, we can hear the officer’s very funny wife narrating the scene:
My poor husband, trying to go to work, and Jango just lays flat on the ground. And it’s only Tuesday!
We can see the officer standing beside the car, with the door wide open and Jango’s seat ready and waiting for him.
The cop gestures to the door, trying to get Jango to leap inside so that they can head off to work, but this doggo seems to have other ideas in mind!
The pup just carries on lazing around, barely even lifting his head to look up and showing no interest whatsoever in leaving his spot.
“Dude’s got Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday still to go to work!” jokes the wife from behind the camera, and the scene continues for about a full minute until the officer finally figures out what Jango wants.
Just when it seemed like the cop was about to give up entirely, he kneels down beside his buddy and starts rubbing his belly.
Just like pretty much every other dog in existence, Jango seems to absolutely love belly rubs, rolling over and letting the officer scratch and pat all over his body.
It seems like all Jango needed was a bit of attention, or “Positive reinforcement” as the wife puts it.
After just a few seconds of rubbing and scratching, Jango seems ready to face the day ahead!
He finally gets to his feet and dives right into the car.
“So all I need to get ready for work is a belly rub? Got it. Check.” laughs the wife, before telling her husband she loves him and saying goodbye as he’s finally able to get behind the wheel and set off to the station.
It’s such a cute clip and it reminds us that even though some dogs are given big responsibilities and important jobs, they’re still just pups in need of love, attention, and lots of cuddles!
