Most people have a soft spot for dogs.
We love their furry faces, wet nose kisses, and the unconditional love they give us. If you have a pet dog, you probably consider it an essential part of your family.
Unfortunately, not everyone feels the same way.
Some owners abandon their dogs because of various reasons. Some may not want the responsibility anymore of caring for a pet or an owner’s living conditions may have changed. Others may have changed their minds about owning a pet.
This story features a puppy abandoned in a field.
A runner was passing by his usual running route when he saw the abandoned puppy. The puppy was an adorable white fuzzy dog with dark expressive eyes.
The area they were in was by an isolated field on the outskirts of the nearest village.
The runner realized that the puppy wasn’t safe where it was.
A busy highway was only 500 yards away, and the dog was likely to get into an accident if the runner left the pup where it was.
When the puppy saw the runner, he immediately became playful and excited. The dog was jumping around and running. But it looked like it wasn’t sure what to do.
He would go near the runner and then run away again.
When the runner moved forward, the puppy stayed behind with watchful eyes.
However, when the runner whistled and called the pup, the dog would immediately go near the runner and look like it wanted to play.
The dog even lay down on its back and let the runner rub its belly.
Fortunately, the runner felt like he couldn’t just leave the dog on its own. He took the lost puppy home with him.
Here, he cared for the dog, giving it food and water.
Then he called animal rescue and asked them to come and take the dog.
While some netizens commented that the runner should have kept the dog himself, we don’t know why he couldn’t keep the dog for himself.
He may have other pets already, health issues, or financial constraints.
Whatever his reason, we’re happy he took the time to help the puppy.
Many people also commended him for his actions and showed support for the runner.

Another said, “Thank you with my whole heart for rescuing this sweetheart of a puppy.”
The runner who took the video and posted it online also shared that the puppy has a home now.
We’re so glad that the puppy is now safe and hopefully, with a loving family!
While we’re sad the puppy was abandoned, we’re happy he was rescued by a good Samaritan.
If the runner didn’t pass by when he did, the pup might have gotten into a traffic accident, or gone hungry. Fortunately, none of those happened and the dog is now safe.
