Dogs are naturally playful, other than loving and protecting their human, playing is the only thing they want to do. The fun never stops once they get dirt on their paws. It’s just that sometimes, the “fun” also means messing around things they shouldn’t be meddling with.
A lot of dog owners can pretty much relate to this, wouldn’t you agree? There’s a dog chewing stuff like slippers, pillow, couch, and they do these things especially when they’re hungry. So it’s always a must to feed them on time – every time.
This human mom, however, didn’t expect what she’d be coming home to one day.
Candy the “sweet” dog.
Her sweetness depends on one factor and one factor alone – food! She’s a cautious type of dog who often keeps her distance from humans, not unless you have food to offer.
Candy’s owner, Michelle Anderson told The Dodo:
“She really just wants her mama but if you have food she’ll come to you. A lot of people think that she’s warmed up to them but as soon as there is no food in their hand it’s back to square one.”
Just don’t let this little dog get hungry, or else, you’ll find yourself into a lot of trouble.
Home is a sanctuary… but…
Not if you come home to a messy one. One day, Anderson was on her way home but got bothered when she saw Candy and her brother, Spike. Both dogs were waiting in the window but she noticed something on Candy’s face.
It got her puzzled and worried.
“I was on the phone talking to my boyfriend and said ‘Oh my God, why is Candy’s face all white,’” Anderson said.
She was immediately greeted by Candy’s messy face when she got home. And when she turned, the floor was a complete mess, and there was an opened bag of flour. That time, it became clear as to what kind of food Candy’s itchy paws and mouth got into.
Who did it?
Anderson can interrogate both Candy and Spike all she wants but they will literally not give a “word”.
When she asks Candy if she’s the one who did all that mountain of mess, the dog gives mom that innocent look. It’s as if she has nothing to do with any of that flour on the floor.
Spike’s face is all clear and clean while Candy’s got a little too much evidence. She actually doesn’t need to admit anything because her face says it all.
Anderson explained:
“There were flour footprints all in the room and down the hall. The flour looked like dough built up because she must have gotten thirsty then went back to the flour. There was dough in the water bowl.”
Looks like both dogs love food but Spike is a bit of a picky eater.
“Both dogs will get into bags or coat pockets if they smell food. Spike just so happened to not like flour or he would’ve been in it too,” Anderson said.
It’s another tiring day at home but Anderson decided not to put Candy accountable for what she’s done. After all, she admits to being at fault for putting the bag of flour within the dogs’ reach.
Maybe cleaning her messy face by herself is going to be her punishment, don’t you think so too?
