Partners should always stick to each other, right? That’s certainly important, especially in the line of duty while our brave officers fight crime on the streets in order to make us safe. Would you also be there for your partner when he’s down?

This K9 had no qualms about it as he rushed to visit his partner who got wounded in a shooting.

I swear to you, I’ll be there for you

Officer Webb Sistrunk, who was critically wounded in a triple-shooting was admitted to a Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia, where he underwent treatment f0r the bullet wound to the right shoulder.

“The Sistrunk family thanks everyone for their continued prayers for our officer,” the police department said in a statement, “and asks that you keep the Buechner and Elliott families in your prayers as well.”

His fellow police officers and hospital staff wanted to do something special for Webb to speed up his recovery so they arranged for his faithful K9 partner, Leon, to visit him at the hospital.

Officer Sistrunk and his fellow officers Evan Elliott and William Buechner responded to a domestic violence call when things got out of hand and Sistrunk was shot in the right shoulder. Elliott suffered a wound to the arm and was later treated and released but unfortunately, Buechner’s injuries proved fatal.

Leon was with Officers Sistrunk during the incident but got out unharmed.

“Officer Sistrunk is an eight year veteran of the Auburn Police Division and is a K-9 Officer,” APD said. “Leon was with Officer Sistrunk during this incident, but was not injured. Leon’s third birthday is coming up in July and his favorite toy is a tennis ball.”

Glad to know that his K9 partner got his back, Sistrunk enjoyed cuddling with Leon and could forget all about the tragic event which resulted in the death of one of his colleagues.
