If you needed to make a top ten list of the cutest things you’ve ever seen, we’re sure dogs and babies would be at the top of the list.

There’s not much cuter than dogs and babies, and they’re even cuter when together.

This video is a great example of how heartwarming a baby and a dog can be together.

Specifically, an Alaskan malamute and a newborn baby.

Teddy is a malamute with a new human baby brother Nathan. In general, Alaskan malamutes are gentle and patient, even around babies.

They are great family pets because of their naturally sociable behavior and intelligence. Because they are very smart, malamutes typically understand that babies are fragile, and they act accordingly.

Here, Nathan’s dad Phil is trying to teach Teddy the malamute to rock Nathan while sitting in a bouncing chair.

He asks Teddy for his paw and when Teddy gives it to him, Phil puts both his hand and Teddy’s paw on the back of the bouncing chair.

Teddy obediently obeys Phil and when their hands are together, Phil and Teddy gently rock the chair together.

Phil asks Teddy to continue rocking Nathan’s chair several times and throughout the whole time, Teddy is calmly sitting down beside Phil. You could tell that he was also trying to follow Phil’s instructions.

The best part is that baby Nathan was calm the whole time, even with sporadic rocking from Teddy. You can see that Phil, Nathan, and Teddy consider each other family members and that they are completely at home with each other.

The video continues with Phil teaching Teddy how to rock the chair.

Teddy is a well-trained malamute doing his best to listen to his master.

When his big paw went slightly too near Nathan’s face, Phil immediately removed it from the chair, but still in a calm and gentle manner.

In some parts of the video, you can see Teddy sniffing Nathan, and the baby didn’t mind having the malamute’s face very near him.

It’s important to note that you should never leave a big dog unattended with a baby. Safety always comes first and you can see here that Phil is watching Teddy carefully.

“Teddy is the most handsome fluffy good boy ever, so calm and gentle with the kids while also being hilariously energetic,” said one comment.

“So cool. You can see the love in his eyes. He knows he has to guard the new pup and make sure he’s ok. Quite moving actually,” another netizen said.

The love between a dog and a baby is a wonderful sight to see.

Many dogs form special relationships with their owners, no matter how young they are, just like Teddy and Nathan.

While Alaskan malamutes may seem intimidating because of their size, they are actually a great option for those looking for child-friendly dogs. They are patient, gentle, and intelligent, as you can see here.
