Puppies might just be the best thing on the planet. There are few things better than getting to snuggle or play with the little bundles of fur that grow up to love us so much!
Part of a puppy growing up is it finding its voice.
One of the best scenes from the Lion King is where Simba is down in the valley. Although the entire situation was a trap, can you remember what he was doing down there? He was trying to find his voice! He wanted to roar like his dad did.
Just like Simba finding his roar, all puppies (and humans, for that matter) go on a journey of learning to find their roar, or howl.
Nowadays, most dogs don’t howl like a wild wolf all that much. Maybe its genetics or maybe its a lack of necessity, but there is one breed that is known for its howls – huskies!
Huskies are some of the most vocal dogs out there, howling included!
As husky puppies get older, they start experimenting with their howl to have their own “Simba moment” where they can join the pack! Husky Owner says:
While 7 weeks sounds young, I’ve seen much younger puppies attempt to howl. While they couldn’t get the sound right, they lifted their heads the same way other huskies do when howling.
Since howling is a learning process, there are sometimes… goofs!
We all know that learning something for the first time can be tricky, especially when we are kids. For one little husky pup, learning to howl was exactly that! Captured on video, we get to see a tiny pup doing his best to howl. The results are hilarious.
The video starts, and we see a pretty normal scene.
The internet is so full of videos of puppies you might think this one isn’t worth the watch – at least until you see what happens later! One of the puppies in the middle of the litter decides that its time to wake up. Like any good sibling, when he wakes up, he wants to wake everyone else up.
Sitting up on his legs, he raises his head to let out a howl!
Throwing his head back, the puppy lets a howl rip – only it is just a squeak. Despite the odds, he keeps trying! Not letting his howl stop, his little squeaky voice screeches to a halt, and something exciting happens.
As he runs out of breath, the howl turns into a Chewbacca noise!
This puppy is a Star Wars fan! Unintentionally, his little howl turned into the throaty call of a Wookie (what Chewbacca is)! While “Simba” may not have found the voice he was hoping for, this pup found someone else’s!
Despite his attempts, his siblings remained unstirred.
Unsuccessful in waking his siblings up, the pup decides to give it one last go and call it quits. If those Chewbacca howls didn’t wake them up, nothing probably will!
