Babies and dogs are the perfect duo. The combination of fluff, baby shrieks, and joy is almost too much for a heart to handle! Often, families will get a dog before they have a baby (practice maybe?) and the dog has to learn how to treat the new addition. It is always incredible to see how gentle and loving our furry friends can be with human babies.
It makes sense, too!
Whenever we see how gently a dog will treat a baby, it is always astonishing for us to witness. It seems to make sense, however! Dogs have been bred for a very long time by humans. Part of that legacy of relationship between the two species means that there are few animals who fit into a human dynamic better than dogs.
Dogs are INCREDIBLY social animals.
Part of a dog’s instincts include family and “pack dynamics.” A baby fits into that! When a dog knows that a baby is a part of the family, they will go out of their way to care for and protect the new addition. AKC even says:
Canines are smitten with babies and can form strong connections because of the amount of time spent together. Both a baby and a dog, especially a young pup, have a common desire for a playmate and someone who will give them attention.
If you want to have a happy baby, get a dog!
It seems that the data makes sense! Babies and dogs are scientifically a perfect duo. Knowing that, we can enjoy the hilarious videos we get of them together even more.
The relationship your baby will create with your pup is unique and can have both physical and psychological advantages for their development. One of the most significant benefits is that dogs make babies happy. It’s also been proven that interacting with dogs raises levels of serotonin and dopamine, the chemical building blocks of positive feelings. They’re also just fun to be around.

Juno is a husky who loves to play. Even more, there have been two new additions to the family in the form of twins! For a dog, this is probably a dream come true – two little humans to play with! In the video, you can see Juno laying down and playing with his sisters in a fun, yet gentle, way.
Letting out little shrieks and reaching with chubby hands, these three are having a blast.
Fluff and chub abound in this hilarious video. Hailey and Kaylee can’t get enough of their husky protector. Mom is probably thankful for the distraction, too! The three of them are simply having some of the best fun.
The babies are really vocal while Juno is patient and fun.
You can see the care that Juno takes when she is playing with the little ones. The babies grin, squeal, and reach for the dog while Juno plays along perfectly. She probably thinks they are weird little naked puppies.
