Millie the husky has been there since Daisy, a human child, was born. They are best friends.
Millie is very protective of Daisy.
And Daisy loves Millie just as much. She giggles and smiles as soon as she sees her. Even though Millie is a big large fluffy dog, Daisy isn’t intimidated at all.
She lets the massive pup snuggle right up next to her.
“Daisy, our baby gets so excited when she sees my husky Millie! They love each other so much and just want to cuddle!” one parent wrote on YouTube. “They always fall asleep together.”
But Daisy’s parents suspected there was a deeper reason for Millie and Daisy’s close relationship.
That’s because they think that Millie believes that she is Daisy’s mom.
“I think my husky thinks my baby is her puppy,” Daisy’s parents said.
According to the American Kennel Club, dogs are “smitten” with babies and have deep connections with children they spend a lot of time with.
They see children as someone they can play with and who will offer them attention.
Having a dog is said to be great for a child. Dogs make babies happy and help raise serotonin and dopamine levels. Growing up with a dog can also help strengthen a baby’s immune system.
Maybe it’s all those doggie kisses? When you do see a dog smelling or licking a baby’s face or bottom, it’s actually their way of checking the baby’s health.
You’ll often see mother dogs do this with their pups.
“When there is a dog around, human babies grow up healthier, more protected, and generally happier,” Caleb Backe, a Pet Health and Wellness Expert for Maple HolisticsBacke, said.
Dogs can sense that babies are more fragile. And since dogs are protective of their pack, which in some cases are their humans, they will look after the most vulnerable.
A female dog will mother a human child as if it were her own in order to protect it.
Millie will plop herself right down on Daisy’s lap. And Daisy doesn’t mind one bit. She just pets her doggie and looks happy to be close to her friend.
Daisy got so comfortable that she took a nice nap with her best bud.
Millie even made sure to protect Daisy in the child’s sleep.
She wrapped her paws around Daisy, so the little girl could feel cozy.
These two are so incredibly adorable that they have millions of followers on several social media platforms.
This one video alone got more than 2.4 million views.
“I just love how fascinated baby is with pup, and how gentle pup is with baby. They are best friends forever!” one commenter wrote.
“I can’t believe that Millie is so patient with the baby. Just wants to snuggle what a great babysitter. Love that they nap together,” said another.
