Every dog owner knows that our canine companions can have some pretty big appetites! They’ll do pretty much anything for a treat and can gobble up their dinner in a matter of seconds. In fact, lots of dog owners need to be careful when looking after their pups to ensure that they don’t gain weight from overeating.
Well, one doggy owner decided to put her pup’s eating talents to the test, setting up her very own Dog vs Human Eating Contest.
The canine competitor in this unique contest is Charlie, a Golden Retriever, while the human is Alicia, his owner.
Alicia and Charlie did a Part 1 of their eating contest back in May, which you can watch here.
In that video, the pair competed to eat plates filled up with egg and a couple of slices of crispy bacon as quickly as possible.
Eggs and bacon are some of Charlie’s favorite foods, so he munched them up in record time and quickly beat Alicia. For Part 2 of their contest, she decided to take revenge, setting out a couple of plates of salad to start off and giving herself a slightly unfair advantage.
Alicia gives the signal and the pair rush down to their plates, getting ready to eat the leaves as fast as they can.
But while Alicia seems to be clearly enjoying her salad, poor little Charlie quickly realizes it’s not too nice for his doggy tastebuds! He eats a little bit of it but then simply stops and watches his mama finish up her plate.
The poor pup looks so disappointed! After eating such tasty things in the first part of the contest, he was probably hoping for some steak or chicken in the second round. Sadly, Alicia had other ideas in mind!
Alicia laughs happily as she finishes up her salad and looks over at Charlie to see his reaction.
He doesn’t seem too pleased, but luckily, a second plate is on the way, filled up with something he’ll enjoy much more than those boring green leaves!
The second course for this eating contest is a plate of Cheez-Its.
Once again, Alicia prepares the plates, lines them up, and yells “Go!” when the time is right.
Charlie then dives into the plate and starts munching on the crunchy cheese squares, while Alicia sneakily uses those human hands of hers to pick them up.
She’s faster than Charlie at getting the crackers into her mouth, but Charlie swallows the whole lot a lot faster than his mama.
Once the eating is over, Alicia tries to argue that she was the winner, but it seems like Charlie isn’t in agreement.
To us, it looks like Alicia won the salad battle but lost the Cheez-It war. But what do you think?
