The bond between a mother and their child is always incredible. This is true both for us humans for members of the animal kingdom. It’s always interesting to learn how animals care for their children.
One video gives a great example of how horses care for their foals.
In the video below, a Belgian draft horse takes care of her two newborn twin foals. Yes, this mother gave birth to twins, which is very rare amongst horses.
Needless to say, watching this family interact with each other is simply too cute for words.
Lisa and Fien are only 4-days-old in the video. The camera records them playing around in the green pastures with their beautiful mother.
She nurses them and runs around with them before settling down in the grass for some much-needed rest.
Toward the end, you see a little girl approach the horses in order to pet them.
Belgian draft horses are not only known for their strength, but they are also known for their friendliness and gentleness. The family reacts warmly to the little girl, and the mother lets her touch her babies. It’s too precious!
Belgian draft horses are an amazing breed of horse that have some unique traits. For instance, they’re world record holders.
According to I Heart Horses:
“There are two Belgian draft horses that hold Guinness World Records. Big Jake, who holds the record as the Tallest Living Horse at 20 hh, 2 3/4 inches tall, and Mcllrath’s Captain Jim, a 2-year-old Belgian stallion who has the World Record for being the Most Expensive Draught Horse Ever Purchased. He was sold at the Mid-America Draft Horse Sale in February 2003 for $112,500.”
People in the YouTube comments absolutely loved the video of the mama and her foals.
