Ever heard from a stranger that your dog looks like something – or someone – else? We might spend so much time with our pups that we don’t realize they’re a spitting image of a cartoon character, another animal, or even a famous actor.
The popular Facebook group called Dogspotting Society has started a new #LookAlikeChallenge, where dog owners are sharing pics of what themselves and others think their pups look like. There are some absolutely brilliant submissions here, so let’s waste no time in jumping right into it!
1. Clint Eastwood
He might be known for being one of the most famous Hollywood stars in the 1960s, but Clint Eastwood has more going for him than that – he also has a dog lookalike! According to this pup’s owner, the older he’s got, the more he looks like Clint. We can totally see it.
Remember the look away monkey puppet that became a meme way back when? Some say it’s based off this dog. Joking, they don’t really, but they both share the same look in their eyes, for sure.
Looks like this person’s dog was swapped at birth for a meerkat. Either that or it was raised by a tribe of meerkats when it was a growing pup. His long ears are the only real giveaway that he’s actually a dachshund.
Toothless the dragon, in case you didn’t know, is a 21-year old male Night Fury appearing in the How To Train Your Dragon franchise. It’s kinda niche, but there’s no denying that this dog has got a Toothless sort of look about him. We’re not sure thast’s much of a compliment, though…
The Disaster Girl meme is another one that we still occasionally see today. This pup has the right location and the right expression to pull this off. Now she just needs to grow her hair.
Bella the chihuahua has a slightly unflattering lookalike: Dobby the house-elf from Harry Potter. Let’s hope she isn’t quite as crazy as Dobby! Her biggest magic trick is probably just tearing up a pillow in the middle of the night, so it’s all good.
Ah, those beginning internet days. Only a handful of videos existed online, and one of them was the infamous “Charlie bit my finger”. When this person took a pic of their dogs, they managed to get a pretty realistic replication by pure accident. One of the dogs is even called Charlie.
Now, we all know a human who looks a bit like Sid the Sloth from Ice Ige (admit it, you do). But he’s got a few dog lookalikes, too. The jack russell on the right certainly gives Sid a good run for his money.
Here we present: “Anita Foxy Loxy”, as referred to by her owner. She’s a mix of German Shephard and something unknown. Her owner was hoping fox, but apparently dogs can’t mate with foxes like coyotes and wolves can. She’s a fox to us!
This dog, hilariously named Stevie Nyx, apparently gives the meanest stink eye of all time. There could be any reason for it, but this time she was tired of her oner taking pics. She hates the paparazzi… We totally see the Pinky and the Brain resemblance here.
Here’s a recent meme to look back on: strutting Leo. As used in all sorts of random internet scenarios (look it up if you don’t believe us). It’s pretty easy for any dog to mimic this meme, provided it looks ridiculously happy-slash-proud of something. Like this dog does.
It’s not always people or other animals that dogs look like – sometimes it’s inanimate objects. Like feather dusters, for instance. This might just be our favorite type of dog… just look how floofy!
No amount of research can help us discover who the guy on the top is. But the owner of the dog on the bottom shared their photo with the word “yipyip!”. Answers on a postcard, please. Suppose they do look fairly similar.

You have to squint to believe this one, guys. Now, the husky on these photos is certainly a handsome dog, and John Travolta is certainly a handsome man. Perhaps that’s enough to say that they’re lookalikes? Either way, lots of people are seeing it.
The 80s was a beautiful time to look back on for many reasons. While we’re kind of sad that neon lycra, sweatbands and perms aren’t really a thing anymore, at least we can look back on what once was. And compare our dogs to 80s workout men.

The characters from “Up!” were based off real people, so it makes sense that Dug the dog looks a bit like dogs that exist right now. These two look like they’re long-lost brothers. He’s just missing the leather collar.
Like we said, sometimes it’s the inanimate objects that dogs look like the most (and honestly, these are the funniest). Ever looked at your dog and thought, “Hey, his head looks kind of like a bike seat”? Well, this person did, and we totally see it.
Beetlejuice’s Harry the Hunter is someone you’d probably be very offended to even bear the smallest likeness to. That said, with her bulging eyes and her ears back, this pug is looking a bit Harry-like. Sorry, but you can’t deny the truth…

Again, we repeat: as much as your dogs may occasionally look like food, do not attempt to eat them. This dog looks like a brownie sprinkled with icing sugar. It’s not cool markings, unfortunately – it’s just a dog in the snow.
Back to another character that everyone would love to look like: E.T himself. Put most dogs in a dressing gown and they’d probably bear a small E.T resemblance. But this pup is basically E.T’s brother. Let’s hope he doesn’t get tired of earth anytime soon.
And finally, take one look at the droopy ears and doleful Depression of this cutie and you can only see one thing: eeyore. Eeyore is, of course, supposed to be a donkey, but we think he’s got some dog-like features, too. Someone give them both a hug!
