One day, an 84-year-old Army veteran suffered a terrible accident while home alone, and his cat Fluffy saved his life. If you’re not so keen on cats, Fluffy’s heartwarming story might change your mind.

After Ron Williams fell in his bathroom, he couldn’t move for 16 hours. Little did he know that the feline pet he recently adopted would be his savior.

“I looked at him, and hey, I just fell in love with him,” says Williams about his first encounter with the adorable black and white cat. The two hit it off right away, and Williams, a resident of Sturgis, Michigan, adopted the lonely animal.

He could have never imagined that Fluffy would save his life just a couple of months later.

Yes, we know that there is a never-ending debate going on whether cats or dogs make a better pet, but Fluffy is in a separate league. Not only did the cat feel that something wasn’t right, but he was also smart enough to realize that the phone might be salvation.

“Ring-a-ding” turned out to be a lucky phrase.

Like many other cat owners, Williams talks to Fluffy all the time. The duo formed their unique way of communicating, and the 84-year-old man loved to say “ring-a-ding Fluffy” each time the phone rang.

The sentence stuck with Fluffy so incredibly well, and the kitten began associating it with the phone. What a clever little fellow?!

Due to his age, Williams couldn’t walk without his walker. As if things weren’t bad enough, the fall left him in a bad position from which he couldn’t move.

According to WBKW Buffalo, Poor Ron fell exiting the shower, and he couldn’t move for 16 hours. Imagine the agony! Ron’s arm was pinned behind him, and there was nothing he could do to pick himself up.

At first, Williams didn’t think much about his cat being in the same room as him. Fluffy tried to comfort him by licking his face. Suddenly, Ron came up with a far-fetched idea. He said “ring-a-ding,” hoping that Fluffy would understand him.

Mr. Williams didn’t expect much, but it was his last hope, and it was indeed worth trying.

Believe it or not, Fluffy put the two and two together and went to grab Ron’s phone.

We can’t imagine how relieved Ron must have felt when Fluffy brought the phone to him. He was saved. “What if he wouldn’t have been in there with me?” added Ron. Fluffy’s proud dad explained that Fluffy would forever be his hero.

Ron was lucky enough only to have a few bumps and bruises compared to what could have happened. Luckily, Fluffy was on the watch, and Ron was eventually able to call 911.

“He’ll never be away from me until the day I die,” claims Ron in his interview.

Your human is lucky to have you. However, if someone close to you is elderly and living alone, please call them every day to check if they’re alright. Not everyone is lucky enough to have the precious Fluffy by their side.
