The speed of that grizzly bear is something else.

It has always been the battle of the strongest for wild animals.

The food chain dictates who is the prey and who is the predator.

That’s why those below the chain always fight for survival, mostly running for their lives.

It’s just a matter of, who is smaller and bigger, and, who is weaker and stronger.

That’s the sad reality out there for wild animals, and for the prey – any day could be their last.

This one might shock you!

A trail camera in Alberta, Canada took a shocking video of a big grizzly bear chasing after a group of wild horses.

The dashing huge bear was probably trying to catch the baby horse seen in the clip.

The video, shared by a group called Help Alberta Wildies Society (HAWS), shows the horses running fast across a stream.

Then, shortly after, the bear comes charging after them.

A few days later, HAWS posted another video.

This one showed the horses before the chase started.

The person talking in the video said they weren’t sure if the bear caught any of the horses.

HAWS explained that a grizzly bear can run really fast for a long distance.

They said they wouldn’t know if all the horses got away until they checked the camera again.

Earlier, in May 2022, the cameras caught a similar but scarier scene.

It showed the horses running directly towards the camera with the bear right behind them.

After that happened, HAWS said, “When someone says wild horses don’t have natural enemies, tell them about this. We’re losing a lot of horses this year, faster than before. Not just the babies, but the grown-up ones too.”

An apex predator.

Grizzly bears are considered ‘apex predators,’ why?

Simply because they are huge in size, powerful, and also fast.

They prey on both plants and meat, depending on the season.

These huge mammals are endemic to the North America region.

“They are primarily found in Alaska and Canada, although they also live in colder states such as Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and Washington. These brown bears are known for their grizzled fur and large size, weighing as much as 800 pounds,” wrote the Yellowstone Bear World.

In this case, just imagine if the charging grizzly bear catches up to one of the horses, let alone the foal.

They’ll be no match and will be easily overpowered by the grizzly bear.

The video was shared by ‘ViralHog’ on their YouTube channel and gained over 3.4 million views.

On top of that, it also amassed 16,000 ‘likes’ and over 4,000 comments from the online community, most of them relieved the grizzly bear didn’t manage to catch any of the horses.

“For those interested, the site that checks the cameras showed a video a couple of weeks later of the same group of horses. It appears that all are present, the bear did not get the foal,” one online viewer wrote.

While another was surprised by the bear’s speed, “Yes, the horses can outrun the Grizzly, but it’s still incredible to consider that a predator that huge can hit 35mph and maintain it for a considerable distance.”

We’re just all glad the horses were safe.
