Sometimes being the only fur baby in the house can be a bit lonely. When the hoomans head off to work or out on the town for a night of fun, what’s an only child left home alone supposed to do?
Well, the pupper could chew on the couch or destroy a good pair of shoes. Or, if the parents are lucky, simply snooze on the couch to pass the time or chill patiently in the kennel and await their return. Extended absences, such as a honeymoon, can seem to last an eternity when you’re alone.
Some dog experts suggest bringing home a new bestie for the four-legged baby so that the two can bond and become tight friends, never to be lonely again. Of course, this means additional expenses for dog food, vet bills, supplies and the upright adoption fee or purchase price for such a cutie pie furball.
There’s also the investment of time in bringing the newest baby into the fold, what with potty training, behavior modification and more. But the endless stream of puppy kisses, nose nuzzles and more makes it all worth it in the end.
One couple adores Boomer, their 1.5-year-0ld Golden Retriever. He’s such a sweet, silly, friendly guy.
But they decided the time was right to give Boomer a sibling.
Experts suggest waiting until the first pup is at least one year old for an easier transition. Also, any existing behavior issues with the first pup need to be addressed first, such as excessive barking, aggressiveness toward dogs and humans, or bad behavior on the leash.
Boomer’s parents decided he was old enough and ready for a new baby. They chose one from his breed for better compatibility.
In fact, the new baby they chose was his sister from the very same parents, just a different litter.
Hubby records his wife arriving in the garage with eight-week-old Baby Bella who is parked in the front seat of their vehicle. She has a paper shopping bag for sneaking the pup into the house and surprising Boomer.
She gently wrestles the yellow fluffy puppy into the bag, then gingerly carries it into the house. As he records the entire adventure, he pans the camera to Boomer who knows something is up.
Boomer’s tail is wagging a million miles a minute, furiously swinging back and forth.
Hubby shuts the door momentarily to build suspense before his wife walks through the door with the puppy. Boomer stands there, eagerly awaiting the surprise.
“I bought you a present.”
Boomer turns and sniffs Mom, catching a whiff of a strange smell. Then he spies the puppy peeking out from the bag.
He turns to Mom, then back to the baby, then circles the bag. Now Boomer’s entire back half is wagging – not just his tail. The excitement surging through his body is exhilarating!
Boomer prances around the shopping bag and suddenly, the puppy breaks free by tipping the bag over.
Bella’s tail starts wagging just as crazily as Boomer checks out his new best friend.
They sniff each other for a moment, then Boomer pounces low on the ground, ready to play.
The puppy initially is startled by the sudden movement, but then the two of them start to play with each other.
Bella is unsure at first, but is bound to warm up quickly to her big brother and have fun frolicking across the hardwood floors at her new home. In fact, future videos of the two show how wonderfully they bonded and all of the adventures they embark upon.
The pair have their own YouTube channel and their own Instagram account with a legion of fans who love checking them out. The footage of them meeting for the first time has garnered more than nine million views.
It’s no wonder! They are absolutely adorable. See for yourself in the video below!
