We know that dogs are loving, special animals. Their sweet souls are loyal, kind, compassionate, and filled with joy. Much like humans, they tend to wear their hearts and emotions on their sleeves…or…paws…
Golden Retrievers are known to be especially loving and friendly – so, it’s no wonder that the adorable dog in this video below has gone viral for his antics.
If you’re a dog owner, you know that these animals tend to end up with a ‘favorite’ toy. Whether it’s a piece of old rope, a dirty tennis ball, or a raggedy stuffed animal, dogs will cling to their favorite toy until the very bitter end.
In fact, if your dog has a favorite toy, they probably never want to part ways with it – no matter how dirty and grimy it may get. But, as you know, after days, weeks, or months of playing with their toy…it gets a bit…nasty.
The golden retriever who is the star of the short 30-second video below clearly has a favorite toy – her teddy bear.
Who knows how long the gorgeous pup has been playing with the teddy bear, but, clearly, it was time that the stuffed animal had a wash in the washing machine. Who wants a slobbery, stinky stuffed animal around their house? The goldie probably doesn’t mind one bit…but the owner? They can probably smell it across the house!
Well, the owners of this precious dog knew how much the teddy bear means to their dog and they also knew that washing the stuffed animal would mean that they’d need to be separated for at least an hour or two.
Knowing that their dog loves the stuffed teddy bear so much, the owners set up cameras in their laundry room to film the reaction from the dog to the toy being sent to the wash!
With an elaborate scheme set up in the laundry room, the owners of the Goldie set up a camera on both the outside and the inside of the washing machine. Such a great perspective! Then, they placed the beloved teddy inside the washer.
Eventually, the golden retriever is clearly concerned about where her playmate has gone and she has an idea of where it might be. In the short viral video, we can see the goldie slowly enter the laundry room with a little suspicion.
She slowly approaches the laundry room and sticks her adorable head inside the washing machine – there it is! Her beloved teddy bear!
Of course, she’s never going to let her sweet and favorite toy succumb to the horrors of a washing machine! So, what does she do? Rescue it, of course!
The short video has touched hearts around the globe and commenters have weighed in on what they thought about the sneaky video.
“That is the cutest thing, she really did look concerned that her teddy bear was in there,” said one commenter.
“This was so cute to see her tail wag after she rescued it. We have a cockapoo that carries his little fox around and cries every night at 9pm. He has to find a safe place for foxie and then he can go to sleep,” commented another.
