Like humans, some dogs hate baths, and consequently, swimming. There are some water-loving dogs and breeds out there, though! In Brazil, one kennel club decided to get a bunch of bath-happy pups out for a big party!
The Golden Friend Forever Kennel Hotel and Spa hosted the pool party of a lifetime.
Pool parties are known for their fun vibes, crazy atmosphere, and fun people. The only thing with this party, though, is that no people were involved! The entire party was hosted for all the golden retrievers that wanted to attend!
With music, a pool, and, a specially made pool, this was one party that you didn’t want to miss.
The entire event was specially designed for the dogs. This may have been the biggest doggy pool party around! They looked like they had a ton of fun according to the video they posted on Instagram. There were some special features that made this party special for the dogs.
The first special item is the pool.
With a tailor-made pool, this pup-party was perfect. As a pool party, the most important piece of the event was the pool, of course. The only issue is that dogs often have difficulty getting in and out of pools that have high sides. They normally have to find a way to get to the stairs and climb out.
This pool was specially designed.
With a shallow bottom and low walls, the pool was designed for dogs. The dogs could swim while finding places to stand whenever they need it. They could also climb out from any side without having to go looking for stairs. This made the entire party that much cooler for the dogs!
This type of party works great for retrievers.
Not all dogs love the water so much. Depending on the breed, certain dogs are at home in the water and others are at home on the couch! Golden retrievers are perfect for pool parties, thankfully. They are super strong swimmers and are always throwing themselves into water (just ask any owner).
The details are in the name.
They are known as “retrievers” because they were bred to go and bring back birds and waterfowl that hunters would shoot. If you are bred to go swim out into lakes, streams, and swamps to get birds, you probably are going to love a pool!
There are other breeds that love the water.
Besides just retrievers, there are a ton of other dogs who love being outside and in the water. The AKC even made a list of dogs who love to swim! Some of the most famous breeds are the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the Portuguese Water Dog. Most of the dogs on this list could outswim even the most athletic humans.
Watching all of these dogs play in the water, you can’t help but laugh and feel good.
There is something reassuring watching these innocent little pups frolic in the water. They seem to have boundless energy and are having the time of their lives. It seems that a pool party was the best thing ever for these pups!
