Golden retrievers can be known as some of the sweetest dogs. They have some of the best traits. They are reliable, kind, intelligent, trustworthy, confident, and friendly. Sounds like the perfect kind of dog to us, honestly!
All of those sweet traits make for a great family dog, and this specific golden retriever just helps prove that.
In a video that was uploaded last year, we see several clips of this golden retriever tending to a baby. He basically acts like a babysitter he cares about the baby so much… Except he’s not getting paid or anything. He doesn’t seem to mind, though!
At the beginning of the video we see the dog and baby sleeping together. The baby is in its crib while the dog is sleeping beside it. The dog appears to be very calm and relaxed next to the baby who is fast asleep, yet he is still staying alert in case anything happens.
Then, out of nowhere, the dog wakes up and walks over to the baby to check on him. He sticks his snout in the crib and then even goes as far as to put his paw on the crib and walk it back and forth!
We don’t know about you, but this seems like pretty human-like behavior and it’s insane to watch!
After he calms the baby and rocks the crib, the dog rushes upstairs to go get the baby’s “human parent.” He finds the parents so fast, all the way upstairs and cleaning in a different room, and tugs at her clothes. It’s clear that the dog is urging the human to go downstairs and check on her baby.
After dragging the human downstairs, she goes and picks up the baby and rocks it back and forth until the baby is calm again. The dog watches this all go down the whole time, to make sure that the baby is safe of course.
This pup is really exhibiting his reliable qualities. He is so loyal to this baby and his family, it warms our hearts to see it!
In another clip, we see the dog once again napping beside the child when suddenly the child begins to cry. The dog runs over and places his paw on the child’s chest, almost as if he is sad to watch the dog cry.
Once again, the dog then rushes upstairs to find its owner and get help. This time she is cooking in the kitchen. The dog pulls at her dress once again (we do feel bad for her clothes, even though the pup has good intentions).
After the dog rushes his owner to the baby, she once again picks him up and comforts the child.
The whole thing is so sweet and hard to believe, it went viral! It currently has over 4 million views while everyone all over the globe is falling in love with the dog and its tiny human.
“How much does the dog charge an hour? The dog is better than most humans,” one person hilariously commented. “It’s gonna be weird the day that baby is old enough for the dog to tell him he’s not his biological father,” another person joked.
