What would you do if you came home one day and all you wanted to do was lay down and go to sleep, but upon seeing your bed, you notice there is someone else sleeping in it?
Or, in this case, something else.
Well, for one big pup who found a group of adorable little kittens in his bed, he decided to throw a fit.
Bailey is a golden retriever who lives with his family in beautiful Costa Del Sol, Spain.
The dog had been on a walk with one of his owners when he came home to find that his other owner had given his bed away to some tiny kittens.
Bailey didn’t initially know what to make of the intruders and looked to his dad for support.
When his dad didn’t do anything about the tiny fluffballs, Bailey decided he had to take it upon himself to reclaim his bed.
First, he tried barking at them to get them to move, but the kittens were immune to his bellowing.
He tried to pull his bed out from under the cats, but they were firmly in place and would not move.
Bailey tried his best to roll the bed around in such a way that the kittens would fall out, but again, he had no luck.
With multiple glances back at his owner, hoping the human would step in and handle the situation, Bailey realized once again that he was on his own.
“Maybe I can nuzzle them out of the way…” thought Bailey as he tried his best to remove the kittens.
He dug his head down into the bed right beside where the kittens sat, and tried to shake them off their perch.
When that didn’t work, Bailey stepped back and took a moment to think.
His next move was to try and crowd them out by taking up as much of the bed as he could.
However, the kittens had the upper hand as they had already been settled in to perfect positions and there was no room for Bailey at all.
He tried again to drag the bed around in order to disturb the comfortable kitties out of their places, but again, there was no luck.
In the end, Bailey finally realized the kittens weren’t going anywhere and he would just have to deal with them.
He lay down with only his head on the bed, resigned to the fact that this would be the best he could get for the moment.
As he lay there, the kittens came up to him and they all sniffed each other and then lay back down to nap together.
Though Bailey is a big dog, and the kittens are teeny tiny, he was incredibly gentle with them.
He definitely tried his best to get them off of his bed, but he never touched them once; until they came up to give him a sniff that is.
Hopefully Bailey was able to reclaim his rightful place back as ‘King of the Bed’, and has made peace with the kittens he was so frustrated at.
