Lulu, a very well mannered golden retriever, was happy in her home with her mom and dad. Lulu was a very good girl.
So much so that her humans decided to surprise her with a present.
Her very own little brother. And apparently, it’s what Lulu has always wanted because her reaction to seeing her new sibling is absolutely priceless.
Lulu’s mom walks into their living room holding a brown paper bag. Inside that bag is a golden retriever puppy named Benson.
“Lulu, we got you a present,” Lulu’s mommy tells her.
Lulu immediately runs over to get a better view with a huge smile on her face. Her mom tells her to sit. And like the good girl that she is, Lulu sits.
She patiently waits for her mom to put the puppy down. But eventually, excitement overwhelms her.
She starts joyfully spinning around in circles like she knows she’s about to meet her best friend for life.
She stops and looks over at her dad like, “Is this for real? Do you see this? I got a puppy!” And it’s absolutely adorable.
The joy and excitement she is feeling is undeniable but at the same time, Lulu is trying her very best to be calm and not startle the puppy.
Finally, the wait is over and Lulu’s mom places the puppy down on the floor and takes her out of the bag.
“It’s your sister,” mom tells Benson introducing him to Lulu.
This proves to be too much for Lulu and she starts flopping around on the floor in joy.
She can hardly contain herself.
She eventually flops over close to the puppy so she can nuzzle up against her new brother. And the two make quite the happy pair.
Lulu definitely seems like the kind of dog who benefits from having a canine companion in the home.
“Dogs are pack animals; they enjoy being around others. Some miss having companionship so much when their humans are away that they bark incessantly or become destructive,” the nest reports.
“A dog can benefit from having another pet in the home, in the right circumstances. It all depends on the pets’ temperaments and the household situation. Some dogs exhibit improvement in their behavior and overall demeanor once another pet is introduced.”
However, this isn’t the case for all dogs. Since dogs have been domesticated studies show that some dogs do perfectly well being the top dog in the house.
Lulu seems to be pretty happy with her new baby brother though.
You can see her sweet reaction to meeting him for the first time in the video below.
