Golden Retrievers are considered a friend to everyone, loyal to their families and completely lovable. So when an owner decided to take in a teeny tiny rescue puppy named Teddy Sugar, she had no doubts that her Golden Retriever named Pork and the curly dark-colored baby would quickly bond and become best friends.
Teddy Sugar the pup was brought home and stowed away in a cardboard box, hidden in another room from Pork the Golden Retriever so he couldn’t see her. But he definitely could hear her! She was whimpering and squawking up a storm, trying to escape her four-sided confinement.
Those puppy yips and squeaks are so cute!
The new owner placed the baby on a pink blanket on the couch where she and Pork the Golden Retriever could go nose to nose and make each other’s acquaintance. But then the older doggo began hopping and leaping all over, going crazy with excitement over the newest addition to the family.
The black puppy Teddy Sugar crept cautiously toward Pork the Golden Retriever, hesitant as the larger and older dog burned off some energy and went ballistic with joy. Then they sniffed each other, a moment of calm before they had another burst of energy.
Teddy Sugar the puppy swatted at her new big brother with an itty bitty paw. Pork the Golden Retriever cannot contain his enthusiasm and begins to sniff the heck out of the new puppy.
When dogs sniff each other’s rear ends, it’s similar to a handshake or high five between humans. A dog’s sense of smell is 10,000 to 100,000 times better than humans.
Hooman mom places the pupper on the floor where Pork the Golden Retriever continues to hop and pop, jump and leap all over the place. She even hides under the rug trying to play with Teddy Sugar the baby who just stands there a bit nervous about the giant dog going ballistic before her.
Finally, Pork the Golden Retriever calms down a notch or two and allows the baby to begin climbing on him. Teddy Sugar the puppy chews on his leg and swats at his face.
In general, the Golden Retriever is even-tempered, intelligent and affectionate. Golden Retrievers are playful, yet gentle with children, and they typically get along well with other pets, which is evident in the video below that captures the affection these two already have for each other.
The bigger dog patiently lets the baby climb upon his head and even chew on his ear while he gnaws on a treat. Eventually, Pork the Golden Retriever stretches out peacefully and falls asleep on the rug with the new baby curled up snug as a bug in a rug right next to him.
After they had a wild and rowdy introduction to each other, it’s time to fall fast asleep and drift into doggie dreamland. These two are sure to become the best of friends!
Watch their antics in the video below. You’ll marvel over how adorable the baby is and how darn cute they are together.
