In 2014, animal rescuers saved a goat named Mr. G and a burro named Jellybean from a neglectful owner. The farm animal sanctuary Animal Place took in Mr. G, and another sanctuary took Jellybean.

Animal Place gave Mr. G plenty of food and lots space to roam around. They thought Mr. G would be happy in his new home, but to their surprise, he was deeply depressed. During his first few days at the sanctuary, he spent all his time laying in the corner of his stall. He also refused to eat.

After six days, Animal Place finally figured out why Mr. G was so depressed: he missed his best friend, Jellybean.

Animal Place called up the sanctuary that took Jellybean and told them the situation. The two sanctuaries decided to send Jellybean over to Animal Place, and a volunteer from Animal Place drove 14 hours roundtrip to get Jellybean. But the long drive was worth it: as soon as Mr. G saw Jellybean, he turned into a whole new goat!

Mr. G ran out of his stall and over to Jellybean, tail wagging. Jellybean played it cool, but it was clear he was excited to see Mr. G too.

Mr. G refused to leave Jellybean’s side. With his best friend next to him, Mr. G finally ate. He also began exploring the sanctuary. Mr. G also became much more playful, and he had more energy.

After he was reunited with Jellybean, Mr. G was the happiest goat in the world!
