For any pet owner, the happiness that they feel towards their beloved animal companion is just as much as the fear that they feel about the thought of losing them.

Unfortunately, animals are not like humans, they do not live as long as we do. With all these being said, it’s only a must to savor every moment with them. Make as many memories as you can with your dear pets and continue to shower them with love.

After all, you definitely wouldn’t want to regret it at the bitter end, do you?

Just make this family, the little girl, in particular, as an example. When their cat’s “time” was about to come, she offered her a lovely song to show her undying love up to the very end.

The start of a beautiful story.

Erin Merryn was still in college when she had her orange tabby cat named Bailey. To keep her, she even snuck him into her dorm on the 8th floor. It only shows how much she really loves the feline. Since then, the two of them refused to be apart.

Erin knows Bailey is special.

“I have always said if everyone had a Bailey there would be a lot less people in this world lonely or depressed. I always told people there was a little human inside Bailey,” she said.

True enough, there is really a special link that connects humans to animals which oftentimes happens at animal shelters. When that feeling struck your heart, you’d instantly know that there’s something special about them that makes you want them really bad.

Over a decade passed and Erin started a family of her own. She gave birth to her first child, Abby. The time she was born was also the time when she started to wonder how Bailey’s going to react to the new member of the family.

Bailey turned out to be the most gentle and loving feline brother to Abby.

The two were inseparable. The cat wasn’t just Abby’s furry brother, he also became her best friend. They would spend time together, doing a lot of things side by side. Right there and then, Erin immediately knew that the two will make a lot of precious memories together.

One thing they enjoyed the most was storytelling. Bailey loved stories from his beloved human sister and it’s something his sister never got tired of doing. There’s definitely no breaking this duo apart.

Then Erin had her second child, Hannah. And although the three of them made such an incredibly adorable trio, the relationship between Bailey and Abby still remained extra special.

They continued to be the best of friends.

The cat took the liberty of being Erin’s daughter’s mighty big brother. He’s very patient too! He would allow the sisters to do whatever they wanted to do to him like dressing him, bathing him, and push him in a little stroller like a baby.

Bailey’s the best brother ever!

“He just loved these girls and let them do whatever they wanted to him. It was incredible,” Erin said.

Erin decided to share their beautiful relationship with the rest of the world so she made a social media account where she posted photos and videos of their everyday journey.

“bailey_no_ordinary_cat”

The Instagram account was filled with beautiful and fun photos and videos of them. It’s nothing but a gallery of precious memories that they shared together. One thing, in particular, made quite a stir on the internet and it was when Abby’s singing “You Are My Sunshine” to Bailey.

It caught the attention of some news outlets and even the famous talk show host Ellen DeGeneres took notice of it. The video went viral back in August 2018, sadly, just three months later, something very tragic happened.

December of 2018, Bailey passed away at the age of 14.

Erin lost her dear cat, while Abby and Hannah lost a protective brother. It sure punctured through Erin’s heart because she’s known the cat for almost its entire life. But what’s more painful was making her girls realize they’re losing their one and only feline brother.

The only good thing about it was Abby’s still able to offer a lovely song to Bailey. It’s one last memory that they shared together.

Thank you for making the world smile Bailey, and most importantly, thank you for the memories that you had shared with Erin, Hannah, and Abby.
