When little 9-year-old Marley received a surprise from her mother, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She came home from school to meet a new friend: an adorable tiny black kitten. Immediately, Marley burst into tears of happiness and joy.
Marley lost her pet Simon, an elderly cat, a couple of months before, which she considered her best friend. He had the same characteristics as the adorable kitten that was welcomed into the house. Her mom Nikki Frost decided to get her a new pet, as Marley loves animals and has been desiring to pet another cat after her friend Simon passed away.
“Marley’s a big animal lover. She’s always putting her change in the donation cans at the pet supply store, and we already have two dogs, two cats and a guinea pig in our family,” Nikki said in an interview with LoveMeow. “Our elderly black cat Simon had passed away the year before and she’d been asking for a kitten since.”
The little kitten was named Ella and at first, Marley’s mom didn’t want another pet as there already were two lovings cats in the household. However, when friends told Nikki they’ve found the little kitten under their porch, Nikki immediately decided to take her in instead of letting it go for adoption.
“I had no intention of bringing another cat home, but… sometimes you just know these things are meant to be.”
Marley didn’t have a clue that she was going to meet her new pet and was extremely excited. Her reaction is truly heartwarming. When she asks her mom “Do I get to keep it?”, her happiness and gratitude can’t be described in words when her mom responds with “Yes”.
