Animal lovers all over the world knows that different species can form incredible bonds for some mysterious reason.
Time to meet a dog and a goat who adore each other.
A white German Shepherd named Shadow loves this little goat. They are no exception to the love spoken by animals.
This beloved dog took on a newborn baby Pygmy goat as though he were her own. What’s even more precious is the fact that the baby goat felt safe enough to snuggle up to the dog.
Shadow cleans the goat as if it was her own child.
They may be considered farm animals, but goats do love affection just as much as dogs. Love really knows no bounds as you’ll see here.
The White Shepherd happens to be the direct descendant of the German Shepherd Dog.
These two breeds share common roots and are pretty similar in terms of appearance. But the White Shepherd evolved from a continuous selection for a working companion dog.
That explains the exclusive color, beauty and elegance people see when the dog is standing or in motion.
A high degree of intelligence and sense of loyalty have allowed these dogs to become one of the most versatile working dogs and pets currently known to man.
Shadow here is proof of all that.
When her family adopted a young Pygmy goat baby, she was immediately captivated by the cute kid. Shadow claimed the little one by immediately snuggling with the tiny animal.
“Awww she’s actually nursing the baby goat and simulating the toilet-cleanings mom dogs do with their puppies. So cute.” says a viewer.
Humans have a thing or two to learn from animals.
Shadow treats her goat daughter as if she were one of her own. And that’s no puppy either.
You can see Shadow is resting on the family carpet while the tiny animal is tucked up against her warm belly. The obviously ecstatic dog can barely hold back her smile as she cares for this precious goat.
A smiling dog is an instant remedy for a bad day.
This dog is just overwhelmed by her motherly instincts, licking and cleaning her “daughter” as if on cue and schedule.
She wags her bushy tail just like a super proud mama on camera!
The baby goat looks really comfortable and feels safe with her dutiful dog mom. It won’t move an inch from her secure and safe spot.
Dogs are too precious.
Pygmy goats were actually developed by Europeans and Americans from the landrace West African Dwarf goat of Central and West Africa, particularly from the Cameroon Valley.
The West African dwarf is raised as dairy and meat goats by rural families.
These goats are valued for having prolific breeding potential and resistance to disease and parasites.
They are docile, responsive, gregarious, friendly, good-natured, alert, animated, active, and fun-loving. Pygmy goat kids love to play, but they require an enriched environment.
Pygmy goats are often kept as pets and browsers, and occasionally for milk.
As adults, they are stocky and heavy-boned complete with a barrel-shaped body and short legs. A full coat of straight, medium/long hair has males sporting a full beard and cape-like mane.
Pygmy goats do breed year-round and are able to bear one to four young every nine to twelve months.
Shadow’s got her own though so stay away from this kid!
Her fluffy white coat is there for a reason. The White German Shepherd carries the recessive white furred gene, similar to how some humans carry the recessive blonde haired gene.
But this color never really stuck, and so the White German Shepherd never really became as popular as other colors of German Shepherds.
How though, when Shadow is so adorable?
These dogs are very popular working breeds known for their work as police dogs, military dogs and herding dogs. The White German Shepherd is also a very popular family dog because of their loyalty and protective nature.
