Canines are among some of the most courageous support animals out there.

From unearthing bombs buried in buildings to detecting humans, barely alive, buried in an avalanche, these four-legged sniffers are incredible.

Dogs play a critical role in warfare, too.

Because of their amped-up sense of smell and supernatural hearing abilities, they can detect a detonation device looming ahead or an enemy lurking around the corner before a soldier can.

Amazing detection dogs

In fact, when there’s little to no wind, a dog can detect an intruder up to 200 meters away simply by relying on its sense of sight, smell, and hearing, according to The United States War Dog Association.

One of the most popular breeds for detection duties with the police, Armed Forces, rescue teams, and other entities is the fluffy, furry, and intimidating-looking German Shepherd.

It helps that this particular canine is quite smart and after enduring intensive training, is ready for the job at hand.

Becoming a normal dog

Many drug dogs are trained to detect marijuana, meth, heroin, and cocaine.

They can pick up the scent in vehicles, lockers, packages, suitcases, and even in open areas.

But at some point, these incredible creatures must retire and live out the rest of their lives as a normal dog with a regular owner.

Some don’t adjust well but others relish the slower pace.

German Shepherd Dante must have been a police dog in a past life.

Dante, who resides with his owner Davey Rutherford in Queensland, Australia, shows everyone in one hilarious second how much he disapproves of drugs.

As Dante lounged on the bed, still alert but relaxed, he gazed out the windows.

Davey rattled off an innocent-sounding shopping list while Netflix played in the background.

What did you say?

Apparently, Dante has disapproved of Davey’s use of a particular word before and he has no problem demonstrating this.

What’s impressive is that Dante is able to latch on to English.

Davey starts going over their shopping list, but with a twist. Would Dante catch it?

“All right, shopping list. Bread, milk, pasta, eggs, mayo, cocaine…”

Hilarious reaction

At the word “cocaine,” Dante’s head snaps around with a look of shock and distaste aimed at Davey, who has captured this hilarious canine’s reaction on TikTok.

Davey wrote “Sniffer dog knows English” although he later admitted on Instagram that his dog has never officially worked with police.

In Australia, drug dogs typically retire but with their handler.

Almost 600,000 people have viewed Dante’s video and can’t stop cracking up.

One TikTok user wrote: “I have just watched this 3 times just to see the face.”

Jokingly quoting Dante, another said: “We don’t joke about such things in this house.” A third user wrote: “BAHAHA HE LITERALLY IS AN UNDERCOVER COP.”

Another noted: “The level of concern though.”
