Dogs and kids go together like peanut butter and jelly! Pups and little ones both have tons of energy, and they can entertain each other for hours.
An adorable video of a five-month-old playing with his German Shepherd sister is perfect proof of that.
Daniel Colvin filmed his precious baby boy playing with their family dog, Freyja. Colvin’s son was holding one of Freyja’s toy, a green pig with polka dots, out for Freyja to grab. Freyja chews on it for a second while it is still in the baby’s hands, but carefully takes the toy away.
Freyja loves her new baby brother, but she is not quite ready to let him play with her toys by himself.
Once Freyja gets complete control over her toy she keeps it in her mouth and starts to whip it around.
Freyja makes sure that she is not getting the green pig close to the baby, while she does this. Once Freyja has her toy, her baby brother cannot stop giggling. It is playtime after all and there is not one child that does not love playtime.
Freyja is enjoying his company too because she does not take her toy and leave. She stays right next to the baby.
Freyja must have decided that she should not tease the baby too much and lets him hold one side of the pig as she keeps the other side in her mouth.
Once both of them are sharing the toy again, this brings on even louder giggles from the baby. He is having so much fun! The baby even puts one of his tiny hands over Freyja’s snout. Freyja really loves her baby brother to let him touch her snout, while she has a toy in her mouth. She is not super protective of the toys, like some dogs, while they play together.
After a little sharing time, Freyja backs up a little for some more solo time with the green pig.
She starts to whip the toy around again, away from the baby, and this causes another round of loud giggles from Freyja’s audience of one. He is even kicking his legs almost none stop in his excitement.
There is nothing that Freyja can do that this baby will not find funny.
Near the end, Freyja even gets to play with the baby as if he is the dog.
Freyja holds the toy above the baby and lets her hold it for a small second, which he is very happy about. Yet, he sneaks the toy back to his own possession as if he is playing a gentle game of tug of rope with him.
In this game of tug of war, it is Freyja that is in control and not the human, that is because he is a tiny human.
Freyja puts the green pig over the baby again to a huge round of giggles.
Daniel Colvin, the dad to both his furry child and human child, is a proud dad watching the two interact. At the end of the video he tells Freyja,
“You are a good girl.”
Freyja and her brother clearly have lots of fun playtimes ahead of time. They’re so adorable together!
