Cats are great at making us feel sympathy for them. Oftentimes, a soft meow or a brush up against a leg is all it takes to get a human to respond. However, one family’s cat took things a step further recently when it decided to fake a limp.

She wanted to get invited inside the home.

The cat’s dramatic acting ability will have you laughing over and over again once you realize what she is doing.

Her name is Snuggles and she is one of the most cunning cats in history.

“So, I take it you want to go inside?” the woman asks the cat in the video.

Snuggles meows back in response. Clearly, she wants to go inside. The family typically lets her come and go in the home as she pleases, but it doesn’t hurt to make the family feel a little bit guilty as well.

If the family thinks that she is injured, they won’t yell at her for getting all dirty, plus, they won’t force her to take a bath.

She is not the first cat that has pretended to be injured in order to get some extra attention. Snuggles speculates that they might give her more love than usual to try and make her feel better.

Perhaps even some additional cat treats are in order?

When you are a cat, there is nothing better than some tasty treats and a massage from Mom and Dad. She has become an expert in the craft of extracting sympathy from humans.

Her number one strategy these days is to fake a limp.

For a while, it was a completely brilliant hustle. She pretends as though her paw is hurt as she limps up to the door, then gets rewarded with tons of extra sympathy and attention.

However, she has done it so many times now that the family is starting to catch on. Her silly tricks aren’t working anymore! The jig is up! They set a trap with the food bowl to convince her to drop her silly act.

For many commenters on YouTube though, the cat’s act was so convincing that they speculated it wasn’t an act at all.

They were totally duped. They fell for the cat’s fake injury hook, line, and sinker!

An update from the family assures us that it was all an act though. That paw is fine!

“Snuggles was regularly seen at the vet for her checkups… I assure you that she is just fine on this video and we filmed it because she did it so often. Often forgetting which paw was supposed to hurt and winging it”

From the day that she was first rescued from the animal shelter, the family knew that they were going to have their hands full with the cat. Her vicious demeanor meant that random attacks were a daily occurrence.

Now, she looks to be slightly more loving.

Over time, the family has been able to bond with the scared cat and work their way into her heart.

She opened up to them.

“Despite being randomly bitten, hissed at, slapped, and having our food stolen….we loved that cat,” the owner explained on YouTube.

Keeping Snuggles around wasn’t without its challenges.

Although, their feelings for the cat were very real. There is no denying that.

“She chose to go in and out of the house. And in her love for us, she brought us mice, birds, snakes, fish, frogs, and squirrels. Sometimes we didn’t notice them until she’d already released them into the house. Snuggs loved that.”
